WDW Scrapbooking Stations

Hi,
I am sure that I am asking a stupid question. I was just on the gifts of a lifetime web site and noticed they sold small scrapbooks for use at the WDW scrapbooking stations.
Does anyone know what the scrapbooking stations are all about?
Where are they located? Is this something my DD age 6 would enjoy?

I've heard about this, too...but I think someone said it was a mistake...but don't quote me on that. I think it was kind of built on the Kids Stations at Epcot...I would LOVE to hear from someone who has more info than my vague bits and pieces...if it's a real thing, I'd love to do it with my grandson next trip.

I was just there(april 12 thru 27th) and I did not see anything like this at all!!! If it is there, I do not know how I missed it.

PS Be on the lookout for some type of announcement regarding scrapbooking and disney...that is all I can say for now!!!

Where will this announcement be made? On this board only, in this thread. Don't wanna miss it. I'm going to WDW the first week of June. Any HINTS!?!?!?!??!?!

I have never heard of these stations either, but I am looking forward to this announcement that Paulinewdw is talking about!

I emailed Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime regarding this, and here is her response back to me...since we're going back in October I'll be scoping these out. If anyone goes before that could we get a report on these???



The one I am most familiar with is in MGM at "Buy the Book." Basically it is a table where you can work on your albums and use items for the albums that you purchase at the park. There is another station at DVMP, and I hear (but have not visited) that there is a station in EPCOT and one will be opening at MK. I do not know about AK because we do not go there very often.

I can't quite picture working on an album at one of the parks... How much stuff would you have to take with you, anyway? And wouldn't you want to be seeing the park instead? Who would hold all your stuff while you were on a ride??!! I think it would be too much for me for the same day!

I agree. I can't quite envision it, either. I thought it would be more like what they do for the kids at Epcot where you would stop at a station and progressively "build" a layout so that when you hit the last station you'd have a complete layout to take home...or at least the elements for a complete layout.

I'll probably at least check them out in October but I surely won't be doing any scrapbooking. Even with 8 days in the parks I don't want to give up ANY of that time to scrapping...much as I love the hobby.

There is a scrapbooking station at Disney Village. It is located in the what was the bookstore and stationary store. It is close to Rainforest Cafe. From what I remember was a tall desk/counter for about 4 people. You can use the items they have there to put together a page or two. I don't remember what supplies they have available for all to use(sissors, etc). I have not seen any other place like that in the World. But there might be other spots that I have missed. I was not impressed with what items the did sell for scrapbooking. I have found better paper, dye cuts and stickers at my local haunts. But if you have to finish a page that is the spot to do it.
