WDW rules and guidelines more clearly spelled out

I'm glad everything is spelled out clearly. Especially the animal feeding thing, not that it's going to stop anytime soon, but at least it's clarified.

I really hate it when people feed birds and other animals. Yeah, it's cute, but it's not so cute when the animals start getting aggressive and when they start pooping on you. Frontierland is the worst because of all the aggressive seagulls, ibis, cranes and ducks. Ugh.

And...they've totally opened up wearing costumes by all ages, as long as you aren't engaging with other guests or impeding anything.

I wonder how many ECV-pulled trailers they were dealing with that they had to put wording about that in!?

I wish they would have better enforcement of the smoking rule. I always see smokers in non-smoking areas and once I pointed it out to a CM who shrugged it off.

?

I do wonder if that is true or something they failed to address...

They can post all the rules they want, but since they rarely enforce them, it's just a waste. I read the list and have seen so many violations.

I think they addressed it. They had info on what's appropriate to wear, which now does not include costumes. It used to include them. They have specifically, over the last couple of years, taken OUT the wording about costumes for adults, lightening up that old rule. Now it's not even in there.

Then they go back to address it by saying you cannot engage with other guests or impede operation while portraying or posing as any character in costume.

I think they covered exactly what they wanted to cover!

Hmmm. I wonder what this means (under prohibited activities) with regards to guide books like The Unofficial Guide:

f. Photography, videotaping, or recording of any kind except for personal use.

We know Disney goes after anyone selling handmade Disney stuff on Etsy. I wonder if they're going to go after anyone that writes Disney guide books that have Disney photos?

I think they'd mainly like to prevent people from filming movies like Escape From Tomorrow.

That do nothing but promote Disney. Doubtful.

:thumbsup2

Maybe so they didn't have to get into what exactly constitutes a costume or not, especially with all of the Disneybounding stuff now. Now they can just step in if what you're wearing is interfering with operations, engaging with guests, etc.

Well, how are you gonna go all day in the park WITHOUT engaging ANY other Guests?

Besides, they've given themselves any control they want with, "We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests."

Wow, this just answered a question I was just about to post...

f. under General. I was just curious if I can only snag 2 FPs for A&E if my 14 yo DD could take my 6 yo DD. That way they would both be in pics and I'll have MM so I'll get the shot! And it says yes! Under 7 needs someone 14 or older. Did I time my kids perfectly or what?!?! :rotfl2:

Seems fair. Question though-my DD who will be 11, doesn't like some rides. Can she sit somewhere if the rest of us go on? She's mature enough to wait but, I can see her bailing last minute on BTMRR. Would that be frowned upon or is it more about wandering 9 year olds? She looks younger BTW.

I'm sure CM's will only "intercept" an unattended child if they're being disruptive or look lost. If you're concerned about it, you can always opt for parent-swap.

I don't understand the question... You'll be going into the park with her so she isn't violating the rule about age for park entry. She isn't going on rides so she isn't violating the rule about how old you have to be to go on a ride. Where's the question?

That rule about unsupervised minors probably stems from something that happens in our area. We have a theme park (6 flags?) and in the summer folks buy a season pass for their kids and drop them off each day as a form of cheap daycare.

I believe the rule is that you must be accompanied by someone 14 or over to *enter* the park.

Wow lots of rules laid out now.

Just wondering does this mean the Brazilian tour groups can no long carry flags and chat? That would seem to be inciting a group.

Also the "disruption of other guests" should make it easier to stop now as well.
