My boyfriend and I are going to WDW January 2013, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any deals that may be offered for a 4 week stay?
We haven't quite decided which resort we'll be staying at.

(And my apologies if I've misplaced this thread!)

Thank you!

2013 deals have not been release yet. You can search for a list of historical discounts at that time, however you can't necessarily count on them.

You will not get a deal b/c you are staying 4 weeks. You may get a deal if they release something during your dates.

Oh I see, thank you.
I was unsure because my boyfriend mentioned his father
received a discount for staying at Disney for 4 weeks, but he's known
for being able to weasel his way into things like that. :rolleyes2 lol

Thanks for clarifying!

For US visitors, I thought you could only book for 14 nights at a time. After 14 nights, you have to check out and check back in for the 14 nights of your stay.

The recent FD promotions were limited to 14 nights maximum.

Actually when you look at the fine print, visits are limited to 30 days on a single reservation. 14 days is the validity period of any park ticket after it has first been used.

OP, you won't get any type of discount (on the US sites) just because a visit is 4 weeks. Now, if a discount is offered that is valid for the entire length of your stay, then yes, you would be able to use that. It is also possible that discounts won't be offered until sometime later in the month. In that case you might have to do a split stay in order to catch a later starting discount.

You can look at the historical discounts for resorts at mousesavers. com to see what has been offered in Jan of previous years.

If you are an overseas visitor, then you may have access to discount packages not available to North Americans.

Did your dad stay in the campground? They used to have a four week special (maybe they still do).

They do list discounts on this site. I also use mousesavers.com
They usually release discounts 3-4 months in advance. Lately it has been even later. For example I was looking for a discount for late August. Normally May is when they would have them out, but this year it was late July before they were released.

It was my boyfriends dad who apparently got a deal of some kind, and I don't know which Disney hotel he was staying at, but it wasn't the campgrounds.
Perhaps my boyfriend misunderstood him, because I didn't think there was such a deal either.

Thank you for your input everyone, I'll have to check out this mousesavers website I keep hearing about! I didn't think there was 4week deal but figured I would clarify here.
:thumbsup2

Hi,
I would rent a DVC if you were staying one month, it's a flat rate and you don't pay any taxes. The plus side is you have a small kichenette and there is allot of availability in Jan.

Good luck.

Is the DVC a timeshare? My boyfriends family already have timeshares with Disney, but they are going to DL this September and might use the points there. To be honest I'm not at all familiar with DVC and how it works.

If you own DVC, the world is your oyster as far as using your points. You can use them pretty much all over the world; all Disney sites, cruise line, and Destinations by Disney. You might want to go over to the DVC board or google thei actual website to get more info.

It's very easy to rent through, you can either Google DVC rentals or go through David's. I went through the two guys who are from Mass, sorry i forget the name of their company, but they are based out of Orlando, i'm sure you will find the thread on the DVC side. I rent, because i cannot afford to buy right now, but i'm appreciated of the owners here and the money they have invested. It's just a great deal... the only downside, non-refundable. if your staying a month, make sure you buy the insurance.

again, Jan is very open for rentals.

You put the dates your interested and they will send you what's available.
