Could someone help me out with respect to bringing food into the parks? Specifically . . . can you? I am thinking mostly of snacks and juice, etc., for my 3.5 yr old. But, if I could get away with it, I would throw three sandwiches into a lunch bag and bring that in too.

Does Disney allow you to bring food into the parks?

Thanks--

Kara

I've always brought snacks into the parks. Disney has never had a problem with it. One of the guards that searched my bag even joked about my many snacks.:goodvibes

Never had a problem. We sometimes even bring in drinks - especially water. I don't mind buying some snacks in the parks, but I don't want to buy all of them there. It gets expensive!

We have never had a problem as a matter of fact we have brought in the cushables peanut butter and jelly many times.

As long as it's not a weapon, you can bring in pretty much whatever you want. If you want to keep things cold, just keep in mind you can't bring in a large cooler (the kind that rolls) because it become a safety hazard. (ie.. you can trip people and run over small children.)

We brought in snacks, sandwiches and drinks when we were there. Each family brought a cooler and we each had a stroller to carry it. One thing we found useful was to freeze the beverages the night before (if you can). By the time we needed them in the park, they had defrosted but were chilled. :thumbsup2
Be prepared, though - they do search everything. By the end of the week, we had the routine down with opening different compartments, etc. Our coolers were soft-sided and had a snack compartment that expanded on top - bought them at Walmart when we got to Orlando.

We have never had a problem either. I even throw a few Mountain Dews in the bottom of the stroller in case I don't want coke. :thumbsup2 We also put a small lunch cooler with ice in there and put yogurt and some juice boxes for the boys.

They don't care as long as it isn't a weapon, glass, or in a rolling cooler they don't bat an eye.

We just got back from vacation and took baby food, juice boxes, bottles of water, bags of Cheerios, nilla wafers, and goldfish into the parks for our 14 month old. Never had an issue.

we did disney so cheap ........ we used a hydration pack filled with lots of ice and water, in that back pack we added anything cold.... such as rolled sandwhiches, pizza, chicken, fruit, chocolate ect. teh ice from teh hydration pack kept everything BRRR. when the ice melted we would go to the food service counters and ask for a few cups of ice (no water) then we added the ice along with a flavor pack, shook it up and we were off again. In a smaller backpack we had chips, crackers and non food items. It was so simple and cheap. We bought maybe 3 meals at disney total. it was just so convient having our food with us instead of wasting time standing in lines.

I really like how you all think! Thanks for the great tips----now we will definitely be "picnicking" in the parks! I totally agree with the last poster---it isn't just a money thing, it will be such a time saver to be able to find a bench and have a sandwich, then onto the next thing! We only have 4 days, and we know we can't stay for a whole day in the parks with my daughter (I am obeying the 'take a break' during the day advice).

We take our lunch into the parks most days. In the off season some of the Magic Kingdom counter service restaurants are closed but the seating areas are still open and we've sat in those areas to eat. Check out the Noodle Station and the eating area across from Pirates. They were both closed on our last trip. I always am sure to clean up thoroughly after ourselves and wipe down the table so we don't make extra work for a CM.

If you want to freeze juice boxes in a hotel refrigerator, place them along the back wall of the fridge and put it on the coldest setting. Anything touching the back wall will freeze because the cold is generated from the back wall.
