I'm beginning to plan for my 2nd trip to WDW 5/02 and started thinking it might be nice to stay on site at HRH. But which place first? I loved the idea of starting at WDW, but sounds good to end it that way too.

Suggestions??

Seriously, skip WDW altogether, there were folks at Universal who told me crowds at MK were 50,000 on a Monday, granted they have good rides but I can tell you I'm too old to wait in line, FOTL is like the way these places are meant to be enjoyed. The HR is soooooo great, they treated us like kings, you are like 3 minutes from Universal, if you wear suit, you return at gait by the slide and can just jump in....also if you do discover deal, there were 6 of us, the free day saved us $300 on admission, maybe WDW will have a deal next year...

but I am able to based on reports I have encountered on this board about those who have come back from vacationing staying both at HRH and onsite at WDW; many people have given more superior ratings to their HRH hotel experience.

I remember reading about more comfortable beds, fluffier pillows, bigger room sizes/better bathroom space, and heard great things concerning their pool along with restaurant menus.

I can't recall the specific poster due to reading so many reports in general over a long period of time but know definitely it was a person on here sometime ago that specifically mentioned starting their Orlando vacation at HRH and then moved onsite at WDW.

They reported having gotten quite spoiled by their perks like FOTL and overall accomodations at the HRH hotel (wishing they were really at HRH right before going back home) compared to after arriving at the Disney resort.

Just thought I would respond since happening to read a direct account on this particular subject (hope this helps); good luck in your planning and whatever you decide.

Thanks, Radar and Deena! Don't know if I could completely skip WDW (not quite ready to let go of Disney), but from the sounds of things Universal is the place to wrap up the vacation and go home feeling terribly spoiled! The FOTL benefit itself could make the entire trip worthwhile!

I am also planning for our trip to disney and US/IOA for June of next year. We are going to disney first for 8 nights, then on to HRH for 3 nights. I think if I did US/IOA first, I would get so spoiled from FOTL I wouldn't enjoy myself at disney. Plus at disney, we will be up early rushing to get to the parks early so we can do the big rides before they get crowded. I think by staying at HRH, that will end the "rush" factor for us on the last days of our vacation. We are always so wiped out from rushing at disney world. I won't feel guilty for sleeping in a little and taking our time.

Save the best for last. We're staying at WL first and then Portofino second because we consider Portofino a step-up from WL. Also, we have more fun at USF and IOA, so we're saving our favorite parks for last!

This way, you have something to look forward to your whole trip.

Don't make the HORRENDOUS mistake I did by going to HRH FIRST then going to WDW...

I was soooo spoiled by FOTL that Disney just got on my nerves. I got so frustrated by FastPass and standing on lines I only spent a few hours at each park.

At Universal I was able to close the parks and stroll back to my hotel. It was HEAVEN!
