So my parents are taking my siblings and I to WDW for the first time in 6 years. I was 10 when we went and don't remember much and neither does the rest of my family other than my mom. Is there anything that I HAVE to do while we are there? We've been to Disneyland a lot of times so we are pretty familiar with MK things.

Also I have a question about the Dinosaur ride. My little brother (5) loves dinosaurs and wants to go on that ride. He wasn't a big fan of Space Mountain when we went to Disneyland in November but he loves Splash and BTMRR. Do you think Dinosaur would be too scary for him? Should we just put him on and hope he's not traumatized at the end of the ride? ;)

I think Dinosaur is our least favorite ride, although I know many LOVE it! My daughter was almost 5 on our trip last December and she told me she "NEVER!!" wanted to go on that again, and she's normally very brave. It is very loud, jerky, dark, and can be pretty scary. Maybe have others ride it first to check it out.

Forgot to mention that you could possibly go to T-Rex for a meal in Downtown Disney instead. I know that it is usually booked for reservations on the website, but they told us they always save most of their tables for walk-ins. Have tons of fun!!

HS = Toy Story Mania, Rockin Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror :cool1:
AK = Expedition Everest, Rapids, Safari and the shows (Lion King and Nemo)
E= Soarin and make sure you visit the Seas for Turtle Talk with Crush - very cool 5 year old will love it.

Have a great time!

Welcome Princess:welcome:

Must do's for my family:
MK:
Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Philharmagic,It's a Small World, Carousel of Progress, 3 pm parades, nightly fireworks and eating at Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) & Cinderella's Castle (breakfast).

HS:
Tower of Terror, Belle's stage show, Fantasmic, Toy Story Mania, Ariel's show, Honey I Shrunk the Kids (fun to play for small kids), Muppets, eating at 50's Prime Time (early lunch) & Mama Melrose (dinner for guaranteed seating to Fantasmic).

AK:
Dinosaur (thought it would scare the bejeebers out of my young child, but just the opposite! Beware though, it is loud and jerky), Kali, Safari, Bug (sit back in the chair and enjoy the show).

Epcot:
Soarin, seeing the different worlds, don't forget to ride the monorail if you get there by bus from your hotel (it's fun in itself).

Have fun on your trip!

about the must do's . . . forgot to mention if you're staying on site, as soon as you turn on the tv in your hotel room, a loud (and annoying infomercial, gets that way after a while) will automatically play with all the must do's. At first we found it helpful, but after a few days we were afraid to turn on the tv! Any must do's you're still wondering about will be there.

My recommended must do's:

MK
Hard to narrow it down here love everything in this park. Since you have been to Disneyland I would say must do's here would be anything not at Disneyland like Philharmagic, Carousel of Progress, Laugh Floor Comedy Club, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Hall of Presidents, Stitch, then any of your favorites from Disneyland because even though they are the "same ride" there are some differences.

EPCOT
Spaceship Earth, Soarin(it is exactly the same as Disneyland though so could be skipped if you are short on time), Test Track, ride inside Mexico Pavilion(they just changed the name and I can't remember what it's called now), Maelstrom in Norway Pavilion, and walking around the Living Seas.

HS
Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, The Great Movie Ride, Beauty and the Beast Stage Show, Backlot Tour, Toy Story Mania, and Muppets 4D.

Animal Kingdom
It's Tuff to be a Bug, Kilamanjaro Safari, Flights of Wonder show, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur (although may be too intense for small children. Anytime I have been in a car where someone brought a little one the kid spent most of the time huddled into mom's lap with eyes closed and ears covered) if your child likes dinosaurs there is a ride in Epcot(Universe of Energy) that is far less intense and has dinos in it, Primeval Whirl(if it's open, it has been closed a lot latley).

Other
Depending on how long you are staying there are great things all over Disney property that are great to hit. If you have time for a water park I love Typhoon Lagoon. The wave pool there and Crush n Gusher are musts. There are also 2 different Putt Putt courses on property: WinterSummerland in the parking lot of Blizzard Beach, and Fantasia Gardens in the parking lot of the Swan and Dolphin Resort.

No matter what you do though just make sure to have fun. Ride anything that looks interesting to you because really there are few rides that I avoid, I like to ride them all whenever I go. :cool1:

I love Dinosaur, but it's jolty, loud and dark. If he didn't like Space Mountain I don't think he'll like Dinosaur. Take him to the Boneyard instead where he can dig up old Dinosaur bones! You could also youtube a point of view video of Dinosaur and watch it with him, see if he'll like it.

As far as must-dos, mine would be Spaceship Earth at Epcot. It's my all time favorite ride. Have fun!

Thanks everyone!!! I tried to show my little brother the youtube video of Dinosaur but he got bored and left when it kept freezing so I guess we'll have to try again later...
What are your favorite shows? My dad and I love to see shows just as much as we love riding the rides :)

My MK must-dos are:

Peter Pan Ride
Pirates of the Caribbean
Its a Small World
Splash Mountain
Haunted Mansion
The Pooh Ride

Nearly everybody mentions Soarin'. Including Stacey on that "infomercial" which we must have watched fifteen times.
I think I'm the only person on the DISboards that disliked that ride. I sure can't understand the hype: I've rode something very similar at Science North in Sudbury, Ontario, which has maybe a thousandth the budget...and at least the Science North ride had a coherent narrative. None of this winefield JUMP CUT ski hill JUMP CUT big city...
As for Dinosaur, it throws you around worse than most roller-coasters, Disney or otherwise, and the animatronics in that thing would be genuinely terrifying for many kids.
