This would have to be a show about the history of the monorails and the current podcasters don't really do that. Maybe Michael from the Disneyland Team could do one. @Merry Mousketeer
Lately I've had this irrational fear that I'm going to be on a monorail that will get stuck in the air in the middle of nowhere (power outage/backed up/accident), and I have to use the bathroom.
I know it's rare, but the day I need to go will be the day I'm stuck waiting for for traffic or power outage.
And there no where to go on the monorail!

Maybe but wasn't thinking a history per say. Just about how it operates, the logistics, management etc. Maybe not a whole show, or maybe as part of a show about disney transportation in general.

I am definitely planning on doing an episode on the monorails. Yes, a complete history would have to cross Kingdoms around the globe. Stay tuned. Nothing is impossible with a little bit of Pete Werner's Pixie Dust!

I know that many years ago, when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade, I wrote to WDW and wanted to technical information on the Monorail system so that I could do a science project on Monorails for mass transportation. They sent me tons of info. I have seen in the years since some of those same docs out on the internet. I will have to go do some digging. There was also a DVD put out by the "Extinct Attractions Club" about the monorails, their creation, operation, technical details, and lots of other goodness.
Thank you for posting those videos! If you heard the most recent DIS Unplugged Walt Disney World Podcast, you'll know that Pete Werner did work his magic. On the Connecting with Walt podcast it will be possible for me to cross Kingdoms and talk about the monorails one day.
Love this kind of stuff. I bought the simulator upgrades from Michael Andrews (your 2nd link) and posted a few blog entries on it if anybody cares to take a look. http://www.mylazyafternoon.com/
It was a very cool thing to do other than you have to kinda demolish your old train to put the new brains in. He put a lot of research into it, even so much as to get the exact timing of the beacon flashing as it alternates from top of front back to the top back of rear cab, to the rear part of rear cab.
