Yesterday I was on one of the monorail (the Lime Green one) trains and saw that there is now more room for ECVs and wheelchairs. I asked one of the CMs at MK station and he told me they are modifying all of the trains.
In the past there was a semi-wall off-center between the seats, with poles going to the ceiling. This left room on only one side where a wheelchair or ECV could fit.
They have taken this out and put in four new vertical poles, two each approximately in line with the poles that the doors pivot on. These can be used by people standing to hold onto. There now appears to be room for up to four wheelchairs or ECVs in each area, so the capacity of the train for chairs has effectively doubled.
I don't know how many have been done yet. They are doing them one at a time. The train I rode to MK had been modified, the train back to TTC had not been. I do not know when the completion of this project is scheduled for.
