I am desperate to get back to WDW. The only time my kids can get out of school is March 14-19 (Sunday-Friday). I'm afraid it will be so crazy busy because of spring breaks that we will spend all our time waiting in lines. How bad do you think it will be?

Chris

We've been twice at this time. Last year, it wasn't bad at all. Most schools have their spring break around Easter. Go and have a good time. We used fast pass and got there when the parks opened. We saw everything that we wanted. We just got back from WDW on Jan. 1st and nothing could compare to that!LOL

It's our spring break time too and I was a little apprehensive but we're going anyway. There's just 2 of us so we'll leave room for you. :teeth:

It's college spring break. I'm hoping that the college kids will go to the caribbean or Fort Lauderdale. That should make WDW not as bad as Easter break when it's families with school age kids going to WDW.

And, my kids are only 8 & 12. So, I'm thinking that if we go to the parks early, we can get alot done before all those on spring break even wake up.

Do you think I'm right? What should I do?!

Chris

Arghh!

I just can't decide what to do. I'm afraid I'm going to lose air if I don't book it. But, what if it's a bad idea?

Dizpins is down so this is my only source for advice!

Thanks for any input, I'm really counting on you all!

Chris

Hey there,
I'm struggling with the same thought. I can wait until July or go for Spring Break which is the same as yours. I went last July and was very scared of the expected crowds. I had previously only been to WDW in May and there where hardly any crowds then. After going in July I was pleasantly surprised and found that although the parks were crowed I was able to do everything we wanted and have a great time. With planning and fastpass we never waited in line for more than 15 minutes. I have heard that March is less crowded than July and much cooler. A big plus. I'd love to not sweat away in the parks. Especially AK. So, if I can swing it I think I just talked myself into a Spring Break trip. :) :earseek:

How about you? Did I talk you into it?

Have a great day:

I'm afraid it's going to be bad!:crowded: Of course, that's when I'm going to be there!;) But Orlando and a bunch of other Florida schools are going to be on Spring Break that week, so LOTS of locals too! Oh well, at least it will be cooler than when we were there last July!:teeth:

We did it one year during Spring Break and it was not bad at all. We went the 2nd week of March and took advantage of EE and had a great time. If you staying onsite definitely do EE, you can get alot done before the crowds come.

We leave March 13th ..... as soon as the dismissal bell rings :)

Yup, I'm going March 14-19.... I'm a college student and I'm going with my friends (but you have nothing to fear from us, we're a bunch of nerds lolol)

This will be the third year in a row I'll be in WDW during the Ides of March. The first year was EMPTY, it was great. I think people were afraid of traveling because it was still the aftershock of 9/11. The parks were open late, we did E Rides, we got on the best attractions with no wait at all.

Last year, that was the week the US declared war on Iraq.... there were helicopters constantly flying around, and the parks closed early :( even though it was pretty busy. The crowds were substantial last year, but not as bad as during the holidays.

Gosh, considering there's been some major US/Iraq thing affecting our trip every year, I'm afraid to find out what will happen this year! If I had to guess, I'd say the crowds will be bigger than they've been in the past couple of years. Plan plan plan, go to the parks in the morning or evening, and make any dinner reservations well in advance.

Last summer I was debating whether to go to WFW spring break (the same week you have) or late May (when school gets out). Lots of people said that midMarch was a nightmare. Lots said both were crowded, but the weather was better in March than May. We decided to go to Paris instead, so we'll be at Disneyland Paris for a few days and sure hope there are not big crowds there!

One to be careful about: I think that a few of our fellow DIS-ers don't go back and reread the original post, and get "Spring Break" in their minds, without looking at the dates. Many people associate Spring Break with Easter, and I think the weeks before and after Easter are really crowded.

Also, go to the official web site and look at the hours the parks are open...the dates on which the parks are open the longest hours should be the dates on which Disney thinks the parks will be the most crowded.

Hi, We went March 17 last year. It was not bad at all, actually we got on most of the rides at Epcot without a wait (except Test Track and Maelstrom). I think some people were apprehensive because of the war, but still in MK we used FastPass and that was great. I think it would be fine.

We (almost) always go down the last week of March, our spring break. Yes, the park is crowded, but it depends in part on when Easter will be. Since Easter is the second weekend of April, the crowds should be heavier then, not mid March when you're going. If you take advantage of Fast Pass, you should be fine (we managed twice before they offered Fast Pass, how ever did we do it?????).

We found the weather to be almost perfect (then again, we're coming for the snow and cold, so anything would feel almost perfect!).

Go and have fun, and tell Mickey we'll be there a couple of weeks later!:wave2:
