WDW Marathon Weekend

Anyone (most likely locals) volunteerting at the Marathon weekend Jan 8-11?

I am working shifts on all 4 days (the Fitness Expo the first 2 days and the Half Marathon and Full Marathon the other 2 days).

If you are, let's see if we can get together after your shift.

For those who have a free day on Thursday (Jan 8) or Friday (Jan 9), there is still a need for volunteers to work the Fitness Expo. I've done this in the past and it's a great way to meet lots of interesting people. Last year I was a "chip verifier" (scanning the chips the runners wear on their shoe). I had very interesting conversation with lots of people from all over the world.

There will be groups of WISHers along the course for the half and the full.

For the half WISHers will be at water stops 2 and 9.
For the full WISHers will be at water stops 2 (red and blue), 7, and 11.

There will also be a big group of WISHers scream teaming (cheering) on the walk way by the Beach Club.

I won't be at the marathon this weekend, but I ran the Goofy Challenge last year, and have run the marathon two other times in the past.

I just wanted to say THANK-YOU to those of you who volunteer to work the races. I know that day is probably as hard (or harder) for you than it is for us out there running and I really appreciate the effort and the hours you donate so that we can have fun.

We runners really and truly couldn't do it without you.

I'll be attending the expo each day and doing ALL 3 events. Notice I didn't say running all three events. And I'll be dressed as Mr Incredible, too.

At the expo I'll be wearing my Incredible's Hockey or Baseball Jersey. If you see me say "HI" and lets get a picture

This is my 3rd Goofy Challenge (8th marathon)... one day I will actually train properly and NOT injure my hamstring.
