My family and I are planning a trip to WDW next summer '09. We haven't been to WDW since 2001 (we stayed at Carb. Beach Resort), we got addicted to DCL instead, but we want to go back to WDW next year. So, I'm looking for info., I've been out of the WDW loop for awhile. Any recommendations on Disney Resorts, should we buy into the Dining Plan, etc. I would appreciate any help you can give, thanks! I did just receive the new WDW DVD.

Need some more info to narrow down the suggestions. What is your family size. How old are the kiddos? What price level are you comfortable with for hotels?

We always found the the DDP has saved us a lot of money. However, this year they took out the appetizer and tips on the list of things that are included. Because of this, it's not as valuable as it once was. However, we still find that the convenience of it makes it worth it to our family.

Sorry, I forgot to post all of that info. It will be myself, DH and DD age 12.
We thought we really might like to stay at either the AKL or WL, but not sure if it's worth the money or not. I mean really how much time do you really spend in the room, but then again I don't know when we will go back again.
Where have you stayed and what are you recommendations? THANKS!

I've stayed offsite...at POP Century...and at the AKL. I will be staying at AKL again in September. We loved AKL. My DH would say that it's ABSOLUTELY worth the price. I'm not completely sold on it because you do spend very little time in your room. However, it does have a much nicer pool area...with a slide. There are lots of things going on at the resort. So if you are going for a longer trip and planning to do some days just hanging out at the resort...it would be a lot nicer to be at a Deluxe resort. WL is closer to MK so if you are planning to spend a lot of time there, I think it would have been nice to be so close. AKL is about 20-25 minutes from MK. We chose AKL because DD is an animal nut. She actually knows all the breeds of animals at AK (which I don't know where she learned because I don't know what half of them are!). So my husband deemed AKL "worth every penny" when we opened the balcony curtains and DD saw 3 giraffes outside our room (we hadn't told her that the animals would be right outside).

Thanks so much for the great info. My DD loves animals too. If I have any more questions, I'll be sure to ask you, thanks!
