WDW in late August

That's your opinion, but isn't it because you had to stay out in it? When you are there as a guest, you can go sit inside whenever you want, just breeze through a shop, get a drink, etc. Go back to the resort, shower, nap, swim.

Yes, it's just an opinion, but I'm often a guest, and because it's free, I'm a guest more often than the average visitor. If I had to pay thousands and thousand of dollars for a week long WDW vacation, it wouldn't be during the summer months.
