What is it like mid-june in the WDW parks? Anyone been at this time? Is it really busy?

I think you guys in the US have finished for summer then? Could be wrong! So does that mean it will be very busy?

I've been going to Disney World for the past 15 years mid June and it usually is busy. However, I'm sort of use to the crowds now so it doesn't really bother me as much. I would say the last week of June the crowds start to get bigger because of July 4th, but you just have to be smart about things. Get to the parks when they open and fastpass all the really popular rides first thing.

Summer here is usually June-August, depending where you live.
In past experiences June has been busy, but you can make good time if you use EMH or hit the main attractions at rope drop. I'm going in mid-June too. Have funn (:

I went early-mid June '08, and it wasn't bad at all (the 7th-14th) we never waited more than 15 minutes for anything without fastpass (partially due to luck and mostly to getting to the parks early).

Just get to the parks early and utilize FP as much as possible, and you'll be fine.

I've been in mid june, and it's pretty bad. But, a way to avoid it is to go early!! The WORST time to be there is around noon-3:00. I would say my worst complaint would be the heat. It is hot anytime, but in the summer it is even hotter. As long as you avoid the mid day crowd, I think you will be okay. :thumbsup2

Im going June 25th-July 2nd... Any idea how to avoid all those crazy patriotic Dis fans? Also I need some tips on staying cool since I have just been informed that it will be quite hot, please reply ASAP.

Thanks!:goodvibes

I just got back from Disney last night. I thought the crowds were about the same for mid June (the time I go with just family). Your more favorited rides will have longer waits while most other rides wont. As of heat, go in and out of shops. Also drink plenty of water. But not the fountain water. Buy the water bottles because the fountain water has a lot of sulfer in it and it makes you sick.

I've been in June most visits and it's been busy but not too bad, just recommend visiting the parks early, or later on :)

Although if you do intend to stay for the day, don't just bail out the park during the afternoon rain shower, because from experience, it's so much emptier after it as a lot of people decide its hometime!

4th July in the MK was mobbed, we've done it once, made an ADR to ensure we got in haha! The CMs had to make a walkway through backstage to get guests up to the castle for the fireworks
We've found that Epcot's a good place if you want to avoid the madness on July 4th :) we hit the American pavillion and met Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Goofy and Donald all dressed in their Independence Day outfits, and we were the only people there!

Although if you want crazy, go at Christmas time:scared:

Weather-wise, yes it's hot and humid, it is Florida after all!

Take plenty of water (i personally don't like water, so i take a bottle of squash with me so i can make it up)
Wear comfortable clothes, nothing worse than being uncomfortable, and uncomfortable in heat is even worse!
I don't find the squirt bottle/fan combo to be all that great, its just something extra to carry about with you!

If you're staying out for the whole day, try and hit the indoor attractions, or attractions with indoor or with air-con, queueing areas when the day's hottest (roughly 11.30am-3pm) If you're too hot in a queue then you're just gonna get grumpy, so hit the stores or go grab some food :)

Just be sensible about what attractions you hit at what times, make use of fastpass and EMH, hit the big queued attractions when they're going to be less busy (ie, during parade times)

Hope that helped :)
