WDW in July?

Has anyone on here been to WDW in July? We were going to go the first week of February 2021 (low crowds, nice weather), but both TRON and Galaxy of the Guardian won't be open until June 2021 time frame.

Would you delay you trip a few months just to see those rides? Is it ridiculously hot in early July? I figure it will be our last trip for a long time...

The weather in July is significantly hotter than February, particularly in the middle of the afternoon. You often have afternoon rain/thunder to contend with as well. February weather is lovely to me, but I don’t mind the summer heat for the one week we’re there- it makes me feel like we’re truly on a summer vacation to a hot place.

If you want to plan a trip around a certain attraction, perhaps go the following February- if summer is not your cup of tea?

Hmm, I guess it would be the strategy of go to the parks in the morning, leave at lunch, go back after dinner. Parks are open much later in the summer than February I assume?

how often do you take trips to disney?

i go relatively regularly, and neither franchise is especially important to me, so my strategy would actually be to keep your february plan in place. i would be hoping that others are postponing trips until the new stuff is open so maybe enjoying slightly lower crowds?

if you visit less often or really love tron/guardians, that’s a totally different situation. but i would be completely fine with holding off until the new ride hype dies down a bit.

Hmm, yea. Not huge fans of the IPs themselves, we've been following the builds of the rides so it's intriguing to finally get to ride them. I'm thinking by the time Feb 2021 rolls around, there will be enough new stuff up and running.

February 2018 we had great weather and the crowds were very manageable. And it's nice to escape the Maritimes in the winter for a couple of weeks. I guess I just answered my own question LOL

escaping winter is definitely a big factor!! especially if you can go for a couple weeks.

I would stick with February for less crowds and really only a couple new things you want to see won't be open yet. I hate crowds though, so that colours my feelings a lot.

We've been to WDW many times in the summer months. It's very busy and VERY hot. For us the heat isn't that big of a deal. We tend to go out early morning and then spend the afternoons at the resort...swimming or napping. We then go back out around 5pm. Doing that we don't really have to deal with the daily rain or the hottest and most crowded part of the day.

With those new attractions coming it's going to be even busier than normal. Just look at how things were with Toy Story last year and see how it plays out this year with SW. LOL....last August we wanted to do all the new TS stuff and had to be at DHS gate at 5:30am to have a chance. The crowd that early was insane. You would have thought it was free admission day or something.
