I'm a first time WDW'er and any tips you can give me for July 19-26, woudl be GREAT. Weather? Things to bring? Etc....

Thanks!!

We will be at WDW the week before you July 12-19. We love to go in the summer. Usually we go the first week of Aug. but had to go early this year.

Bring lots of sunscreen, water, a rain poncho, personal fan. Take breaks. Know that is will be crowded, use FP a lot. Plan on it raining about 1 hour each day.

Most of all have fun!! One thing we really like about summer is that the parks are open late.

Any time is a great time at Disney IMO. The key is just be prepared. The weather in Florida in mid summer is Hot, as in Africa hot and the sun is intense.

1. Start your day early. then take a mid afternoon break by the pool.
2. Absolutely no commando touring. When we go in August, we make sure we do 1 big ride (say space mt.) then we go some where cool (hall of Presidents anyone) No way do you want to run from one end of the park to another.
3. Park hopper, if you can. Like bcinoho said, the parks are open until 11:00 pm most nights. plenty of time to go back to your room cool out until dinner than hit another park in the evening.
4. How about a water park.

We went in Aug. which tends to be just as hot.

My suggestion, and being a newbie at the time - I never thought of this, bring extra clothes. I mean everything. Especially if you take breaks in the afternoon. I was lucky because I'm an over-packer anyway, but sometimes I would go through 3 sets of clothes in one day.

Have fun!

Wear shoes that will dry quickly. Crocs.

It will be hot, humid and pour every afternoon.

Start early.

11PM - wow!!!

Now I'm not going to be as stressed out about planning by days. For some reason, I had the idea that they were only open until like MAYBE 10 at the latest.....

Lots of late nights for the kiddo! YAY! And hopefully back int he room just in time to watch Leno :o)

We will be at WDW the same week as you!
We are going July 20 - July 25.
This will be my girls first time. I am very excited!

We are staying at All Star Music. I plan on taking afternoon breaks for naps & swimming and then back to a park.

Have fun!

We'll be there as well---July 21st-25th @ POP. :)
I can only repeat what everyone else here has said: It will be boiling hot, it will be crowded, and it will rain. (Obviously it can't be all THAT bad---we know all the cons and are still going!)

It's okay - a little mid-day shower never hurt anyone, right? Plus, I'm glad it'll be hot, that way I can work on my tan.....and drink lots of fruity alcoholic concoctions!!

Anyone feel like joining me at ASMo??

Two words: WATER PARKS!! And then a few more.......I agree w/ all of the suggestions about hitting the parks later in the day. Definately take advantage of those late extended hours and even the early morning extra hours. Even though humid nights dont ever really get nice and cool, its much more tolerable when the sun is down.

It will be hot. If you don't mind walking around in a poncho and taking it off and on the rain can be a blessing, the crowds usually thin out a bit. just cover your stroller with a poncho if you will have one.

We are going the same week.

We plan on doing parks in the morning and evening but waterparks/pool/naps during the afternoon :)

We'll be there during the same time and this is our 3rd late July/August trip
I agree w/everything above - specifically what has really helped us are:
ponchos
extra clothes
planning to go back to the room before dinner for a "rest"
being at the park early in the morning and later at night(it's cooler)
water!!!

We are going to be there in July and I can't wait. Living in Oklahoma we are use to it getting really hot!

I am so excited I can't wait!

OU1247, we are also from Oklahoma. We'll be there June 22nd-July5th. We usually go in August but opted for a little earlier this year. And you are right, living in Oklahoma prepares you for WDW heat and humidity. The only park we ever have trouble with is Animal Kingdom, it is so humid there. We make that our early and leave before noon park. As long as you pace yourself and take mid-day breaks you will be fine.

We can't wait.
