WDW in August

ok, I need all your imput. Tell me about Disney in August, 1st week, specifically..... thinking about a kid-free, 40th bday, 20th anniversary vacation and I need to hear it all good and bad. Thanks!

We went the last week of August and I wouldn't do it again. The weather was very hot (but not an issue because we always go in summer anyway) and rainy. The parks were not that crowded really, but here's why I wouldn't go again at that time - everything closed early.

If we had gone earlier in August it would have been better. Shows/parades all running regularly, attractions open, parks open later, etc. That last week everything just dies.

It's very hot and really humid. Two reasons we no longer go at that time of year. If you don't mind the heat & humidity you should have a great time!

I go every year in August. I don't mind heat and humidity, and if you don't either then it will be fine.

We have went to Disney in August 3 times. Always the third week. We would do it again. Yes it is hot but you have the pool, the rides cool you down and eating at the resturants. We have went the first week of December, during Christmas and New Year's and also in May. Hands down I would go in August again before any other times. The crowds are definately smaller in August. Go for it and enjoy! Anytime at Disney is great.

We went at the end of August last year and didn't mind the heat or humidity that much. At least one park was open each night for extra magic hours. We plan on going again at the same time if the free dining is offered - it's a huge savings for us!
