Hello all! Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions! We're coming down for our honeymoon in July and I wanted to make things even more magical than they already are. We are students, so we are younger and on a tighter budget than most. However, I wanted to get everyone's ideas that they would like to share on things I can do to make our trip even more magical. I know I can tell the reservation people that it is our honeymoon and sometimes we will have a special surprise in our resort room, and that's awesome, but I am looking for something a little more 'solid in expectation' (I have read reports of people saying that to the reservation CM, but nothing happening when they arrive or whatever). I am not looking for FREE (although that would certainly be a plus), but anything that you have experienced or know of that isn't a whole load of money, I would certainly love to hear it! Thanks again everyone! No idea is too small or 'too dumb'! I will appreciate any and all suggestions/ ideas!

We love doing the pick a pearl in japan. It's not too much money like $12 and you can find inexpensive settings and that way it's a wearable memory. Up in price is going on a tour. We did a scuba one and it was really really nice.

Though it's probably $30-50 for a meal and maybe out of your price range, you could try reserving a brunch or dinner at Cinderella's Round Table...it's a totally "magical" dining experience and we are so excited to have that on our schedule for next June! This will be our first time going so we're pretty stoked to dine in Cinderella's Castle!

Sounds like a good idea....I did the dive with my brother a few times (and unfortunately she is not certified so it is not an option..not to mention the cost!!!) Thanks!!

We are going to do this. Sounds like a great time! Thanks!

I know this is kind of a small idea, but I know at some resorts like POFQ and POR they have carriage rides, I don't know what other resorts they have it at, but this seems romantic and I believe it is pretty cheap. I know what you mean I am a student and know those tight budgets :)

This is a great idea. She always wanted to do a carriage ride together...granted in the winter through the snow, but a carriage ride is a carriage ride! Thanks!

DH and I just got back from a trip there and dinner at Jiko was one of the highlights. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. The tables were nice and spread out and there weren't a ton of kids. I would 100% go back to Jiko.

Bluezoo is another place we went. We had our reception there but also just had Christmas dinner there last week. Again, the food is superb. I personally think the best on property, and the mixed drinks were delicious! Seriously, get the bazooka joe bubble gum drink. Oh my god, I want to learn how to make it. Again the atmosphere is very nice.

Those are the only two places I would recommend to a couple.

EDIT: Oh, also if the Magic Kingdom is still doing Wishes dessert parties, I would recommend that also. It was a lot of fun.

We really enjoyed dinner at artist point, quiet and very good food!

We enjoyed the California grill too, but it's very loud and i prefer quieter restaurants.

For a more inexpensive dinner the wave is nice as is the grand Floridian cafe.

We really enjoy going for a cocktails together, especially at a resort before we eat.

A tour we really want to try is the behind the seeds tour in epcot, I think it's really reasonable only about $15 per person.

Hope this helps

I have always wanted to do the Behind the Seeds, but I think she would be bored to tears! The ride is bad enough for her! I will definitely look into those restaurants though!!! Thanks!

For those who did the Behind the Seeds tour, did you just show up, or book ahead of time? I really want to do it, but I don't want to over plan us, so I would rather wait until I am there!

I believe I have heard the majority of the time it is open for walk-ups, but if you wanted to play it safe and if it was a must do, I would book it.

If you like the water or being on a boat, something that is FREE is taking the water shuttle from either POR or POFQ to Downtown DIsney, or from The Magic Kingdom to the GF or Poly, then back again. It's especially nice at sunset or close to it.

Breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe is also really nice. The room is surrounded by windows, so the sun shines in almose with a greenhouse effect. ANd the food is awesome.

Have a great time on your honeymoon!

This isn't too extra-special, but when we were on our honeymoon at Disney, we did the animation studio activity at DHS where you learn to draw a Disney character. We had never done this before and thought it fun - and our drawings of Goofy are a fun memory in our honeymoon scrapbook!

We also did the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK. I know it's an additional expense, but if you have AAA there is a discount - it might be $60/pp? I can't remember exactly. This was fun because we entered the park before it opened to the public and we learned a lot about the MK. Lunch is included in the cost of the tour, and we got to sit with our tour guide for lunch (maybe because we were honeymooners?) and we had a great conversation about Disney World with him. We were also given little gifts that were a nice memento for our honeymoon scrapbook again! :goodvibes

Its a little bit of money (around $60 or so a person I believe), but my DF and I loved the Keys to the Kingdom tour. There is just tons of details and information in it, and it was really nice to be in the park before it opened. We got some great pictures up and down Main Street and in front of the Castle with no one else in them! :cool1:

Do the "Nature Inspired Design" Segway tour then. You both get to ride Segways backstage, and it's a three hour tour around Epcot that includes a mini version of Behind the Seeds. DH and I just did it and it was one of the highlights of our trip.

We love boats...we are actually splurging on the Grand 1 yacht for the Wishes fireworks (that's why the rest of the vacation needs to be budget!!!). Two trips ago, we were going to the Magic Kingdom and when we got there on the monorail, they said it was Pirate and Princess Party at the time we were going, so knowing we couldn't get in (we didn't know prior that the park closed earlier), we took the boat back to the TTC...we were the only people on it...and that was the highlight of our trip (as silly as that may sound)....the sun was setting and almost down, so it was dark, but the sky was an orangish color..it was beautiful...some of the deck hands took pictures for us and we really enjoyed that time...just the two of us...on a "cruise" of our own...for free!

This sounds like a really cool idea (animation part)....I am the worst drawer in the world, so to be able to learn how to draw a Disney character would be really cool. (For MK tour, please see next quote) Thanks!

This is something I definitely wanted to do at some point in my life, but not so sure she would be interested in it (plus I like being the one with the most knowledge...I don't want to give that role up to a guide!!! LOL JK!!)..I will see what she thinks of this!!! Thanks!!!!

This also sounds like a really fun tour to do. She did mention once that she thought riding "those two wheeled things" (Segways) would be fun. I'll mention this!! Thanks!

Thanks to all so far who have responded! Great ideas!

My dh and I had our honeymoon their last July. It was so much fun!! Our favorite romantic restaurant was California Grill. We timed it so right after we finished dinner we took drinks outside to the observation deck and watched the fireworks. Dinner was expensive, but you could just go to the bar at the right time to see the fireworks. It was pretty magical! We also did the carriage ride at POFQ. This was cute too.

Have the best time!!

Thanks for your suggestions! We have always wanted to do California Grill, but I think it's a little beyond our budget!
