WDW hires Magic Johnson to run CM cafeteria's!

WDW is dumping Aarmark in favor of Sodexo Magic to run their employee cafeterias. (The same company that services Disneyland)

Magic Johnson owns 51% of the company!

Any DL CM's wanna comment on how good or bad or how expensive it is?

http://www.sodexomagic.com/company.html

oh aarmark, your standards for our food were so-so... sodexo did my school lunches years ago and they were only like two dollars!! maybe my friends down at wdw will appreciate the change :rotfl2:

Is there really anything positive to say about Aramark? I remember they ran our cafeterias in food courts in college, they were horrible.

What about the employees that worked at the Aramark locations? They were really nice-I hope they get offered other placement. :(

Some catering companies have different levels of packages that they offer. A college cafeteria may have bottom of the line food, while a company cafeteria may have better fare.

. . . Any DL CM's wanna comment on how good or bad or how expensive it is? . . .

1) Never been a DLR CM.
2) But, I have eaten in the DL cafeteria.
3) There was a marked difference between WDW and DL.
4) And, a change for the better.
. . . tastier
. . . more selections (at least when we went)
. . . about the same prices
5) I assume WDW employees will like them.

PERSONAL OPINION, ONLY:
Aramark is a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE company. I think they have their
level of service and won't budge, even for Disney. After eating
their food at five resorts and three parks, "bland" comes to mind.
Not bad, not great, just bland.

Any one else find it interesting that the move takes place after Free Dining has been reduced. I wonder if it all ties together somehow. Now that the meals are basically being paid for, a better company is brought in.

Just interesting.

What does "Free Dining" have to do with meals for CM's? We pay for our meals, don't get them for free.

The CM Cafeterias are entirely different and not at all related to the theme park food. Free dining would have nothing at all to do with CM backstage food options.

My college switched to Sodexo to cater their concession stands for Basketball and Football and there was an immediate drop in food quality and customer service, and prices actually went up.

I believe there has only been one cafeteria that was run by disney, Castosaurus, I used to work there it was really good and they served food from restaurantosaurus, flame tree and pizzafari. I believe it could actually be better if Disney cafeterias were owned and operated by Disney.

DLR had great cast member food. No complaints here (except the "hot" vending machines- got food poisoning every time I ate at one of those) but the actual sit down places? Awesome!
