I am happy to be getting it done earlier. Since I get there pretty early, I'm ready to go. If it is colder this year I think everyone will apreciate that. (I can hope for it to be cooler can't I.)

I agree with Lily, I'm good with an earlier start. I hate waiting around. And instead of starting at 6:35 (last corral 6:30start), I'll be crossing at about 6:20am. Whatever works.

I always show up waaaaaaaaaaaaay early, so this just means a few minutes less of sleeping on the asphalt.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Weather man said yesterday that this could be the winter we haven't had in a while (meaning cold)...lets hope NOT!

Since this is my first 1/2, start times don't matter to me. I guess its just less time I will have to stand there and freak myself out or almost get sick like at Race for the Taste.

I must say that I will take a 30 degree day over what I have found to be three oppressively hot days over the last two years.

I loved the last 2 Goofy's and hated the 2006 Goofy as it was so cold. I wore every layer I had(including fleece jacket and gloves) the whole 3 hrs of the half without warming up. Martahon only got better after 17 miles. I hope for 3rd year of Hot weather!

I would rather it be warmer than colder IMHO. I ran my first half last March and it was very cold and windy. It was almost painful. The thought of going out there in the middle of the night and freezing to death doesn't sound fun.

I can deal with the weather either way. Just as long as there is no wind. I hate the wind.:)

Well, I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold. I live in Atlanta and it is too cold for me right now. I'd probably die if I had to live any further north. :lmao:

Not that my hopes do anything, but PLEASE be more like 06 than 07 or 08!!!!! While it's not fun, you can always add layers, there are only so many you can take off. :rotfl:

(I hope teh warm climate runners can forgive me :goodvibes )

Being a cold weather girl I'd rather be chilly than too hot. I find that I warm up pretty fast and start shedding those layers anyways but running the summer here I found to be miserable. So hot and sticky and sweaty!

So what is this E-letter you speak of? I have never received one and this is my 3 rd WDW marathon and second Goofy.

Disney sends them to all registered runners if they have a valid email address. I would check to see if you have SPAM blockers eating them or if Disney has your email address wrong(or not at all). I have all the newsletters on my website at http://disneyrunning.com/marathon09.html so you won't miss a thing.

Also, making sure Disney has your email address is now really important as they will be emailing you the link to print out your waiver. You have to print out and bring to expo as they aren't mailing them anymore. You don't want to have to chase a blank one down at the expo and than chase your bib number before getting into the packet lines.

Hey Robert,

I have been going on your site but I have yet to actually receive one e-mail from Disney related to the marathon weekend since I registred 15-Jan-2008. I think the other goofyguy is getting them. Seriously, comcast allowed multiple people to use the exact same e-mail address and everybody was getting the others e-mail (believe me, I did not want the semi porn the others were getting). So I chnaged service and e-mail address in Feb-2008. I just sent WDW sports this update so hopefully this will fix things. In the mean time I will go back and read through the past newsletters. Thanks for the help.

Agree with you totally. In 2006 it was in the 30's at the start for the 1/2 and it was like running at home (ideal). 2007 and 2008 were miserable, with 2007 the worst at 70+ degrees and 80+% humidity at the start. Somewhere in between I'm okay with, but if I have to select....let's go with the 30's. :thumbsup2

Okay, guys, come on. I'm only doing the 5K, but let's go for 60-70 degrees and very low humidity. I'm from California... I can't function in anything else! I don't even want to be a spectator in anything else!!
