WDW Gift Cards

Is it possible to get a gift card good for the restaurants, hotels, and gift shops at WDW? I know they have Disney Dollars at my local Disney store, but I would prefer to have a gift card as opposed to the paper money. If so, where do you get them? Thanks for any help!

They have the gift cards at disneyshopping.com (free shipping with $100 purchase SHIP100) or at any disney store. It says they are good at Disney World and I haven't heard of any problems so I would trust them.

I purchased Disney Gift Cards this summer for my DD's. They used them at all the shops in WDW. I've heard they take them at the resorts and restaurants also.

The Disney Giftcards worked out great for me! I went with my neighbors, so for my birthday, holidays, and before I left, my parents got me the giftcards. I thought they were really easy to use, whenever I wanted to make a purchase, i would just whip out the card from my wallet. Alot easier than cash.

Sounds like the gift cards might be a good idea for my kids, but what if they don't spend it all at WDW? I imagine they would be good at the Disney store also, but can you get a refund on any remaining balance?

The gift card cannot be used to pay your room bill at the resorts, including anything you might charge to your room, nor are they good on DCL. Supposedly they are working on changing that, but AFAIK that has not happened yet.

I had about $100 in Disney dollars and wanted to buy the gift card instead and they did let me put the Disney dollars towards buying the gift card. They did ask the manager though so I'm not sure if this was an exception or not but they did allow it.

I recently received a Disney gift card for my upcoming trip and it says that the gift card cannot be used to purchase Disney Dollars but I'm not sure if it works the other way around. It sounds like a previous poster had luck using Disney Dollars to purchase a gift card but as they stated it may have been an exception. Good luck, it doesn't hurt to ask someone at your local Disney Store.
