Wdw food

Hi,

First trip to wdw in 2 weeks and just wanted some opinions on the quality of the food within wdw. Weve been to disneyland resort Paris 4 times and the food has always been really poor quality unfortunately ( bland and over priced ). I just wondered what experiences you all have had and if there's any recommendations. We're on the DDP so restaurants within wdw are a must for us.

DLRP's food is like DLRP : bad, awful, bland you name it

food in WDW is much better, and in larger quantities.

now you're going in 2 weeks, I hope for you that you made your ADRs, especially since you're on the DDP.
Some of the best restaurants might already be sold out.

There are some fab places to eat in wDW and Orlando area. Epoct has food for everyone, just depends what you like really and what your budget is. Counter service is cheaper but if to want table service you will pay more and need some Money for a tip.

You can also book character meals which are such fun our favourite is Ohana at the Poly.

there is no comparison to the food in DLRP to WDW...
Yes there is the standard fare of burgers, hot dogs etc but you do have so much more choice in WDW. Even for the counter service you don't have to look far for some good food as there is a big variety from salads to sushi to pasta. Some places are better then others and as PP said Epcot has some excellent food. There are many excellent restaurants to choose from as well and hopefully if you have the DDP you have made your reservations already. Overall the quality is far superior to DLRP and SOoo much cheaper and much bigger portions..

We've always been very happy with the food at WDW on the whole. Not all restaurants are equal but I think you will be pleasantly surprised, if not impressed

There are some great places to eat at wdw.

For sit down (TS) restaurants you really need a reservation (adr) to be guaranteed to be able to eat there. Walk ins are not always accepted or you may have a long wait. If you haven't made any you can call or do so online. Or ask at conceirge or guest services when you are there.

For QS it isn't all burgers but you need to know where to look.

Where are you staying? How many people? What are your preferences.

Have you seen the restaurants board on here - lots of pictures of the food in the reviews section.

While we have had a couple of meals we were not keen on the rest have been excellent. Though some people have given rave reviews about the places we have not liked so its personal choice.

So much choice from as pps have said burgers right up to high end places that sell amazing food.

We love the breakfast selections at places like Tusker house and Crystal Palace.

Epcot has some of the best CS places. DH and I are looking forward to trying the new CS place in Japan in Epcot. While the Morrocan Tangerine cafe is also really good.

While at DTD you can eat at the wonderful Wolf Gang pucks which is a counter service place that you order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. Go to the one in the market place end its near the Christmas shop. The one in the westend has a more limited menu and not as much seating.

Just thought I would comment on chmurfs post about DLRP's food being as bad as DLRP itself. I think the food comment is true but I think that the place in itself is really good and keeps improving all the time and for the families who read these threads who cannot afford to to WDW then casting a bad light on the place could really put the dampners on an upcoming DLRP trip. Imo, after going DLRP many times before going to USA I would have to say I prefer magic kingdom in Paris than USA although the studios is much better in USA than Paris but overall Paris is fab.....especially when the sun shines!!

I think both places have some plus factors over each other except on the food front I do think that DLPR is grubby looking compared to WDW but rides like Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean are way better in Paris. Mind you have found the no smoking rule and people lining up totally disregarded at Paris but people can be just as rude and just as friendly in both.

don't want to hijack this thread into a DLRP vs WDW thread, but I have to clarify
DLRP is great when you can't afford going to WDW
But DLRP doesn't stand the comparison with WDW
I've been a long time Dream AP holder at DLRP with an average of 25+ days in the parks per year, so maybe I'm a bit blasé with DLRP
I don't agree with the Space Mountain statement. Most regular guests loathe that ride since they changed it to "mission 2", and think it was way better before when it looked like WDW's Space Mountain
POTC ... I might agree, WDW is in "reverse" when compared to DLRP's, and is also shorter.
DLRP lacks money. Many animatronics are consistentely broken in POTC, IASW and other places. Audio is off or inexistent or with a delay most of the time at ToT or RnRC, and so on...
guests are rude, many CMs don't have a clue as to what makes the "disney magic" ... just imagine that two days ago on a french forum a CM at DLRP was talking about "rude guests" and was stating how painful guests were because they asked things they could have figured out from the plans or signs, and that as a CM it's not his job to inform guest, let them go to city hall ...
That's something you couldn't fathom in WDW.
No I'm not bashing, it's still a very fun and magical place to go.

But don't expect WDW or DL standards of quality and service.

Anyway that's my opinion and it's worth what it's worth

DLRP food is nothing short of revolting. So little choice too.

Honestly, WDW couldn't be more different.

Just a personal opinion here but I HATE DLRP and will never go back there again. As PP have said the people are rude, the CMs are rude the food is horrible and in my opinion it has absolutely none of the Disney magic. I would rather not go to a Disney park than spend my money going there.

The history behind this feeling is that we did a weekend to DLRP about 3 months after returning from WDW. After trying unsuccessfully to meet Mickey Mouse several times with my then 6 year old little boy due to the pushing, shoving and elbowing from "guests" my 6 years old bursts into tears and asks what did he do to Mickey Mouse when we were in America that was so horrible that he doesn't want to see him now

That was the end of DLRP for me

Just back from DLRP less than 48 hours ago.

Please don't let their food put you off WDW food!!!

We LOVE eating in WDW and struggle to decide what to have in DLRP.

After this recent trip I think it'll be a while now until we return to DLRP.

Got to agree the food in wdw is plenty and good, nothing like dlrp. You'll have an amazing time with amazing experiences.
On the subject of dlrp thanks to the lack of detail and commitment to the magic on a recent trip a few of the cm costumes were badly fitting and my 6 year old son noticed that there was somebody inside mickeys suit! We have had to do some quick talking and magic sprinkling to convince him mickey is not just somebody dressed up! Sorry completely off track!

Never been to Disneyland Paris, but WDW counter service meals are good- large portions, reasonable. It's not just burgers and fries either, there's a lot of choice

Not to get into a lets bash DLRP but my mum, sister and niece went and they were horrified at the cost of the food for the character meals and the menus had nothing they would eat. Plus the cost of bottles of water were

I asked them in relation to this thread and they agreed that the food was better and cheaper in WDW.
