We have never seen the fireworks at MK before. These are my options I am thinking about. 1 have dinner at O'Hana and go outside to watch the fireworks after? If this is even possible? 2 eat dinner in the MK and watch the fireworks inside with everyone else? Are the crowds super bad to get back to you resorts? Also if we did go to the O'Hana can we still catch a bus to HS and take the boat back to Y & BC? I know all the parks will be closed at this point but trying to avoid being stuck in crazy crowds. Thanks

IMO your first viewing should be in the park. Yes its crowded but that's the price. Watching from outside is nice but not the same experience at all. If you try to watch from the right side of the hub you can exit through the tommorowland/mainstreet bypass and it puts you ahead a lot of people getting out.

Definitely watch it inside the park your first time. The crowds can be bear trying to get out, but that's ok. A lot of it depends on your transportation situation, too. The Monorail lines move surprisingly fast considering how many people are filtering out. If there are still shops open, maybe just duck into a couple of those on the way out to let some of the crowd disperse before you fight with it. Otherwise, follow the PPs advice for getting out quickly.

watching from the beach @ POLY is nice, relaxing, less crowded.....but not as good. The music is piped in, but if you are far from the speakers you can hardly hear it. YES, it will be very crowded from MK back to the bus stop, so if watching from POLY beach, get a bus from POLY to HS as you mentioned...providing the buses are still running, otherwise you'll have to get back to Mk to catch a bus from there

Maybe.
What is the date we are discussing?

Since you haven't seen it before you need to watch from within the park. I highly recommend getting a wishes FP. It's not just the fireworks you need to watch, you need to see the projection show right before the fireworks as well which you won't see outside the park and will have a tough time seeing if you're not near the hub.

The wishes FP gives you a great view, you can show up 15 min before and don't have to camp out a spot, and can normally sit on the turf if you want.

As far as after Wishes, the crowd leaving is like the super bowl just let out. I wouldn't recommend leaving until about an hour or more after Wishes. We watch Wishes then head away from the hub to go ride attractions.

FP? Go to the Wishes Dessert Party and get great seats and tasty treats for the fireworks.

Wishes dessert has got way too expensive for us to pay for 4 adults one child. I was looking at it before the price change. I didn't know there was a FP for wishes. Good to know. We are going from Nov. 6-14 but only have 5 days of hopper tickets. Plan to go 9-13 to the parks.

We never leave when the crowd does for anything. For ex. we sit on the plane until everyone else get off, at movie theaters we stay and read the credits until the lights come on and then leave and at Disney we go the opposite way of the crowds when possible and just hang out or go in the shops until the crowds are gone. I have major crowd phobia (almost panic attacks) and that is why we don't go to Disney parks on weekends (stay at resorts instead) or go to any of the special events or Fanstasmic or go on holidays (Christmas, New Years, etc). We also don't go to MK on Mondays and we go to WDW either in Oct. or Jan.
I won't even do any Christmas shopping at night the week before Christmas. If we have to go, we will go at 1 or 2 in the afternoon.
