WDW EMH - Final Conclusion - Do not Use?

At Disneyland CA, I have used early entry to successfully ride some attractions I would not in fantasy land, plus Space Mountain.

However, I know a lot more use the EMH at WDW due to the number of guests staying on the resort, so the guidebooks and whatnot seem to suggest *never* using the morning EMH because those parks are busier and it's better to go to a non-EMH park and sleep in 1 hour later.

Is there a final conclusion to this? Is that the best advice, or do some still argue to participate in EMH mornings? Thanks.

My advice remains: If you want to avoid the crowds, find out where everyone is going to be and then go do something somewhere else.

Everyone staying at the resorts is going to be in the park for EMH. Therefore if, for example, Epcot is having EMH in the morning, visit the MK instead.

:welcome: to the DISboards!!

Each EMH experience can be different.

I always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)... never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly empty and easy to ride the open attractions.
If that park THEN starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later...
Were happy with "doing" that park for the day and we can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until later.

PM EMH's are a mixed bag. I've been when they were PACKED... but on other nights (sometimes within the same trip), the crowds were basically so low that it was like "free rides" on all the open attractions.

Those who have attended PM EMH's and say that "they are TOO CROWDED" are right... but ONLY for the nights they may have attended.
I can say, from personal experience, that they CAN be EMPTY, or FULL or somewhere IN-BETWEEN for attendance, often within the same week.

It can change so much (either way), that saying it was "like X" on a given night, can be meaningless on another night in the same time-period. So, you simply don't KNOW unless you go. Its similar to saying that you attended on a given night and it rained, so guests should never go on that night because it will probably be rainy.

The rule seems to be, it is far easier for guests to STAY UP at the end of the day, than it is for them to GET UP at the start of the day.

But, considering EMH's are FREE to attend... if its busy, just people-watch or hit the exit (where ELSE are ya gonna go at 10pm, anyway?)
But if its not busy... you're ALL SET for EXTRA FUN!

What about going to a park at opening that has PM EMH? Does PM EMH make the morning worst, or does it have little impact?

Thanks.

Great advice and experiences!

Yeah, don't ever use early EMH - keep the parks emptier for the rest of us! :rotfl2: Seriously, I always do early EMH at MK and Epcot. The only park I have heard about crowding at early EMH opening is AK. At MK and Epcot, it has never been bad and we have been able to do a lot during EMH. We do go during an off-season time, however (late August).

I think what the guidebooks are mostly suggesting is don't go to an EMH park if you are (1) staying offsite, because you don't get the benefit of EMH and crowds later in the day will be greater, or (2) don't have a hopper pass. Because you definitely need to hop out of the EMH park at around 11 or so when the masses arrive and add to the EMH group. But I find that to be true almost every day...my Disney mantra is "get there at opening!"
