WDW DVC AP Increase - Price Hints??

So with prices going up on Sunday, I was going to buy four DVC APs at the current price of $446 (is that with tax, I think it is?) to avoid the increase. However, if the increase is going to only be $6 each AP because of the higher price yet higher discount, should I just wait? I don't really need to shell out $1800 right now if I can wait a year and shell out $1800 + $24 in increases.

Help :confused3! I don't want to pay $474 + tax if our DVC discount will only be $100. What do you think?!

I was reading threads about the increases in DL Annual pricing and was curious about the DVC Discount... I see it was still a $20 discount, which for $600+ tickets is absurd...

However, I went over to the WDW page (knowing about the $100 discount) and saw something very interesting... Seems like new prices and discounts are loaded on the page... Even with taxes, we do not have a $150 discount on tickets...

Only you can decide if it's worth it for you. I looked at it as: I'm going to have to pay either $419 or $425 anyway, but the risk of waiting is an extra $60+ per ticket (if the DVC discount ended being the same as it is now). I had the money in savings to pay for both APs now, so I decided the $419 was better than the theoretical $425 (and basically gave up any renewal discount) and the $419 was far better than the possible $474, so I jumped. :goodvibes Good luck with your decision!

Do you have any children that need APs? If so, I'd buy theirs now and wait for the adults. The new prices show kids AP price to be the same as the adult. They are currently around $411 including tax.

FWIW, I think the prices tfc3rid found on the members' website (they were there for only an hour or so) will turn out to be the actual new prices, so I personally am not buying vouchers now for future use.

So if the annual pass is really only going up 6 bucks then we should wait till july to get them because we have some two day base tickets to put towards the purchase of our new dvc passes (two day bace ticket went up by 8 bucks so we are actually getting a better deal.) Is my math correct ????

As of Sunday the premium tickets will not get as much of a dvc discount as the regular so this math does not work for them but the only way to put old tickets towards new ones you have to be down in Disney ... Right ??

According to a post on Theme Parks you will now only get credit for the price you paid for the base tickets if they came from Disney. No bringing them to the new gate price popcorn::

That is correct - it will only be the 3rd party reseller tickets like UT that still get bridged to the current price.

Can I even buy vouchers for future use if I'm a current AP holder, or will they only let me purchase a renewal?

Also, we used to be able to buy APs with the discount online, but I cannot find that option now. Do we now have to call MS?

This is interesting. Can you please provide a link or more information?

Thanks!

So if one ticket is from 5/09 and another is from 6/11 they will be worth different amounts even though we activated them and then upgrade that day ...
Why do tickets from undercover tourist get bridged but not disney tickets that I bought from Disney ???

We will become DVC owners hopefully next month, we are waiting on ROFR now. So we can't buy the AP before the price increase. I might have missed it, what will the new DVC AP cost be after the increase? Thank you very much!

If they were both purchased directly from Disney, then yes, that is my understanding.

No one has officially said. Speculation has it that Disney knows what you paid if you bought from them. But they do not know what you paid (or when you bought) if a third party sold the ticket.

$452.63 including tax.

Current DVC AP price is $446.24 (including tax).

So starting tomorrow, the DVC AP pass will cost $6.40 more.

Does anyone know what the DVC PAP will cost as of tomorrow? Thanks.

Best guess is same as the Florida Resident PAP which will be $595.34 (including tax).

Im in California and buy the premium pass to avoid the hassle of block out dates, parking, etc. What we typically do is let our pass expire and then buy them when we go back. You know, stretch it a month or so. The annual $20 increase was something we've started to accept. With a $150 price increase this year, I'm seriously probably not getting the AP since I have to do 4, which is a $600 increase for me. My dilemma is that when they offered the Premier Pass, we took advantage of that when we went to DW in 2010. My rationale then was that for the $300 or so difference, we were able to get TIW and not do the dining plan, park hop, do Disneyquest, and even get merchandise discount.

This December, we plan to go back to DW and I was (emphasis on was) going to get the DL pass and upgrade to the Premier. An advantage to doing that is that you can pay monthly on the DL AP, then just pay one time on the upgrade. Now, we'll probably just go on a length of stay pass. I know it is ultimately cheaper to get the Premier this year so we can use for both DL and DW, but what bugs me is that with 2 parks in CA, the cost to DVC members is more than the Premium Pass for FL that has 4 parks, 2 water parks and disneyquest.

So I'm holding out that DL AP discount will match DW AP discount. After all, there is a DVC resort in CA like in Fl.

I'm staring to ramble because I'm really at a loss with what to do. Maybe not, but I just don't want to pay $3,600 in Disney passes, when I can get a year for my family of 4 in Legoland for $600 total.

I just wish Disney could get their act together and make pricing more equitable for DW and DL.

Thanks for letting me vent...

I'm hedging my bets that the APs go up just $6.40 with the DVC discount, and I will wait until my credit card calms down before buying the four APs we need. My kids are 10+ now, so the kid AP won't help us now.

At least WDW price increases are more reasonable than DLR price increases. Seriously! It costs us less to fly to Orlando from California and go to WDW than it does to fly to Anaheim (1 hour away by plane) and stay at DLR. Plus, we get to stay up really late in Orlando because we are on California time!

I love  both parks, of course! They are unique in their own ways. I like the WDW prices a LOT better, though.

Happy NOT to be spending $1800 today.
