If you look at a lot of the US members of this forum, there is quite a bit of mention about discount codes/PINS that they receive in the mail from Disney. These entitle the specific person to things like extra discount and free dining. Have you ever heard of the UK WTDC doing this? I have booked 3 trips through them now and a discount code might come in handy at some point!

Not heard of any UK discount Pins however some UK members have received pins to book through Disney US.

Had a few over the years for the US site but nothing for UK site.
A few days ago someone posted a general use UK 10% discount code but only for this year (probably better discounts elsewhere)

about 4 or 5 years ago, i got a great PIN code from the US site for free dining during a non-free dining period..

my daughter used it....but nothing since...

That's interesting I always thought only the recipient of the PIN could use it.

i made the reservation for her.
it wasn't a problem - she has the same last name after all.

it was a very good deal - at pop century.
she was there for 14 days and it cost only $1400 for the two of them (she went with one of her best friends at the time), including all the food.
Really a steal.
and back then, it was the regular dining plan (not quick service)..
but those days are long gone

It can work like that for hotel discounts, my Brother visits Vegas a lot, has an account manager over there for the casinos/hotels etc, he booked me our hotel at £25/nt instead of over £100/nt, I just showed ID on arrival for proof of name, my Brothers first initial is the same as mine. :goodvibes

wow!! great price!
yeah, if you visit vegas a lot, you can get really good prices..
my brother in law's secretary goes there all the time with her husband..
so the hotel gives them a really good price that they give to gamblers...

And people on baby name boards advise against naming siblings with the same initial :rotfl2:

We've had US PINS - have booked with US disney twice and also sometimes get some after pricing but not booking on the US website.

I was just thinking the other night how I used to get them regularly until a little over a year ago. Since then, nothing. I had some really good ones and there was one time when I considered stashing the whole trip onto a credit card as a bonus extra trip. Sort of wish I had now just so I could feel like I took advantage or the opportunity. Oddly they were never for my dates, yet on the US website when I signed up, I actually put in my preferred time of travel.

:lmao: There are 2 families with kids at DD's school, both of which have 2 children (one boy and one girl) and the daughter has Mom's name and the son has Dad's. Must be crazy at family gatherings :rotfl:

Thank you for all of your replies. I'm glad I'm not missing out on anything from WDTC UK. Booking through the US site was never really an option as I like to book my trips as soon as rooms are released on the UK site, (about 18 months!) As I have found the most discount is offered! :-)

Which route offers the most discount depends on what you are booking and for how many people.

We always book a one bed villa at a DVC resort and unless we book OKW or SSR with the discount/free dining then a room only discount at any of the others resorts with be a greater value to us than free dining.

US generally public discounts are usually 30% for deluxe resorts with AP discounts increasing that to 35% most of the year.

Family of 4 in a mod will be better with free dining.

Always worth doing the maths!

crazy family gathering? my sister in law and i have the same first name (and last name for that matter) - and you know how weird my first name is (not beth)...
i rarely meet someone with my name, so family gatherings drive me insane when i constantly hear her (my) name being called...
