Hi all... Been lurking on here for a while, soaking up all the helpful info since before our last trip to WDW eight months ago (thanks to all!), and now we're planning our return trip after this coming Christmas :cool1:. We'll be driving  from New England :scared1:, arriving in Orlando on Tue Dec28, departing on Thu Jan6. Here's the big question:

When should we visit Universal?
  1. My original plan was to spend one or two nights onsite at Universal at the beginning of the trip (giving us early entry and FOTL when UO will be jammed), before moving on to WDW.
  2. Now I'm wondering if we should stay at WDW the entire trip, and commute to Universal during the week of Jan3 when crowds will be lighter (so we might not need early entry and FOTL?).
  3. Or should we do the opposite of #1, and move from WDW to Universal for the last two days of the trip and stay onsite then when rates are lower? Honestly not sure my two boys (8 & 10) could wait until the end of the vacation for WWoHP.
So it breaks down to beginning, middle, or end. To be clear, this is definitely a WDW trip with a bit of UO thrown in (DW is not a HP fan :confused3). And YES, money is tight, so cost is a factor.

What would YOU do? TIA!

If you're wanting to do WWoHP around that time, you will either need to stay onsite or wait until after January 2nd for the crowds to go down. It's just too busy during that week to be able to do much of anything w/o the help of unlimited Express for staying onsite and you can forget about getting near WWoHP w/o early entry.

Thanks for the advice, MW!
