Wow! I actually had my first experience with Disney Dining offices that wasn't excellent. I can't remember a time when I didn't answer all 1s in the survey!!
So the problem was that my Rose and Crown ADR is for 7:00 on the 20th...a little too early for Illuminations. So I wanted to see if I could get a later time for that day or one other day on my schedule, the 22nd. So I called and get this woman who was just okay. She tells me there is no later time on the 20th so I ask her to check the 22nd. She says the latest she has is a 7:05. At the time I thought, why bother? Then I ask her to note on the ressies that it's my honeymoon, thinking it might help my chances for patio seating.
Well in the process, she says her system went down and she'll add it when it gets back up, thank you for calling!
So about 30 second after I hang up the phone, I decide, ya know what, maybe I should just switch to the 7:05 time on the 22nd anyway. It kind of fits my schedule better anyway...so I call back. This time a woman answers with a phone that is making a loud, cracking noise every 2 seconds, it was hard to even hold the phone to my ear. That was only problem number one. I try to explain to her my situation and right away she seems like she doesn't know what she's doing. She tries to find my ressie, I give her my name and phone number. She SEES my reservations then puts me on hold. She comes back and then asks if I'm on the dining plan (why do they ask that, btw?) and if I'm staying at a Disney resort and then she asks which one.
Why did she need to know that? Was she making small talk or killing time with she was doing something??
So I ask her to switch to that 7:05 time on the 22nd and she would tell me "there are no times available, hold on." A few times she said that. What am I holding on for if she just told me no times are available? Honestly, I don't think she was looking. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe that 7:05 time had been snatched up in the last 10 minutes.....Honestly, she had me on the phone for 20 minutes and we got nothing done.
So just to see...I called back and got this AWESOME guy! I felt like he totally understood what I was talking about AND he got me that 7:05 time on the 22nd. So that proved to me that the previous woman I spoke to either didn't know what she was doing or didn't look!!
This is the first time I've ever been frustrated with wdw-dine!! BUT I was able to make that switch. I still plan on calling to see if I can get a later time but I'll do that in the next few weeks, give some people a chance to cancel!!
