I was thinking about surprising the family and going to WDW the thursday before our saturday cruise.

Does anyone know of some place cheap (in WDW) where we can stay for 2 nights?

Can I get transportation to the port from any resort in WDW?

Thanks!

On property:

Cheapest - probably the All Star Sports, Music and Movies (they're a barracks though...)

Moderate - Carribbean Beach (puts you in the mood for cruising) and Pop Century.

Check the MouseSavers site at: http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html

There may be some discounts. We're staying 8 nights next week at Caribbean Beach for $95 a night.

cheap (in WDW)
Isn't that an oxymoron?

In spite of Dana's barrack reference, the Value Resorts aren't that bad. If you're just looking for someplace to store your stuff while you make a few trips to the parks and want a bed and a shower, the All-Star resorts are fine. And they are the least expensive.
However, if you want somewhere that you can relax comfortably, lounge at the pool of your choice and have dinner at a nice restaurant, then you'll want to check out the Moderate Resorts.
If you're looking to be pampered while relaxing in luxury, then the Deluxe Resorts are the ticket. But that does come with a price.

Depending on how soon you're going Tink, check around, MouseSavers only lists FL resident discounts and AAA right now, but Mary updates very frequently, so something might come up.

edit: and yes, you can get transfers, but they do not pick-up at the All-Star Resorts.

Would Reccomend Disneys POP CENTURY it is abrand new Value resort... Allstars are older....

As for the part about picking up At the resorts i dont think they pick up at all of them..

AND strongly Reccomend u use Private Towncar service for all of your needs will Cost u less ....and they will pick u up at What ver resort u are at... we use www.tiffanytowncar.com
others go to www.disneycruiser.com to get a look...

Alternatively, you can get a room thru Priceline in the row of hotels by Downtown Disney. These are not IN WDW, and are not of Disney quality, but they are VERY reasonable. For details on Priceline bidding, go to www.biddingfortravel.com.

We are flying in on Tuesday before the cruise and are staying at the Hampton Inn for 62$ a night. They have breakfast and scheduled shuttle service. We are using Tiffany for transportation from MCO to hotel to the ship and then back to MCO.

Thanks for your help everyone. You all gave me alot to think about.
