WDW at Easter

Hi there

We have just booked to go to Disney at Easter next year for 2 weeks.

Never been at Easter before are the parks as crowded as they are at Christmas? If so is it mostly busy just over the Easter weekend or will it be busy for the whole time we are there? Are there any special events or parades on?

We were there for Easter 1997, so I don't know if what happened then is the same now! However, we haven't been at Christmas, only New Year, so can't make a direct comparison (so why am I trying to answer your question LOL!!?)

Easter was pretty busy, but not as busy as we experienced on NYE. The weeks immediately before and after Easter w/end were quite busy. So, if you're having a two-week trip and have the Easter w/end at the beginning or end of it, you should get one week that's not as busy but, if Easter is in the middle of your two weeks, it could be busy pretty much the whole time - hope that makes sense!

Although Extra Magic Hours were a bit different when we went (Early Entry mornings), there were more of them than usual scheduled for Easter because of the anticipated high volume of visitors - a big bonus for us as we stayed onsite.

There was a special Easter parade in MK on Easter Sunday, Easter egg hunts at the Disney resorts and Easter/spring themed displays most places.

We went for our honeymoon in 2001 the week before and the week after easter and it was really busy, never been at xmas so dont know how busy in comparison.

I cant recall any special parades, but the disney resorts and windows were all decorated with bunnies and eggs etc.

We've been twice over Easter. We spent Easter Sunday at Magic Kingdom both times. In 2004 it was so busy and it was on the news that night that they had shut the gates by lunchtime. In 2007 it was very very quiet, I don't know where all the guests went but it certainly wasn't to MK!
