Cast of characters:

Me - 41 (obsessed with Disney and planning, planning, planning)
DH - 45 ((goes along with my plans and the occasional How much is this going to cost me?)
DS - 15 (Loves Disney as much as I do)
DD - 11 (just glad to be on vacation anywhere)

We decided to meet up with some friends of ours at Citiwalk. Now I have been trying to reach these folks via cellphone but for some reason it wasn't working properly. I would connect, then disconnect or just give me the message the service was unavailable or worse yet, it gave me the dreaded ANALOG ROAM. I switched over to Sprint last year and I was a bit unhappy that my cell phones were not working as good as I heard that they should. I just could not understand it, I always heard that Sprint especially in FL had great service....Alas, I said to the group lets just walk over to Citiwalk and see if we can find them. My son then uses his phone (sprint, on MY PLAN) and was able to connect with his friend who is part of the group we are supposed to meet...HUH? Go figure, his phone is working but mine is not? DH had same problem but we both have the same phone while DS has a newer phone (Isn't it dandy when the kids have better toys than the parents who by the way paid for it???). Anway, we were able to hook up at Margaritville. They got a nice table for eight outside on the porch and send their DS to meet us at the boat dock! The night was warm and I was soo in the mood for a nice maragita with salt! DH had his usual scotch which definately put him in a much better mood! The boys had soda's while my DD had a shirley temple (she loves getting those and the put a little umbrella and lots of cherry's in it for her). We ordered some buffalo wing's and calamari for starters and settled in for some conversation and music. They have a live band every night which plays lots of 50's, 60's and 70's music. Right up my alley! I love this place, but it is loud. They had a man on stilts that did balloons for each of the kids (the older boy's took it in stride and participated - thank goodness!). Our entrees arrived (Chicken ceasar salad, ribs, steak, pasta and cheesburgers ) seemed to be the order of the day for our table. Everyone enjoyed their food except for my DS who ordered the steak. I reminded him the Margartiville is probably not the best place to order steak - its more of a cheesburger, ribs kindof a place. Anway, we settled the bill and headed back out to citiwalk to meet up with more friends of ours. (I should probably mention that the friends we met up with in Margaritville just moved to FL and came down purposely this weekend to meet up with us and the other family). We tried cell phones again, and miraculously mine now worked. (This seemed to be the theme of this vacation - Cell phone on, cell phone off, cell phone working, celll phone not)....Hmmm, if Dr. Seuss were still alive, I bet he would be creating some new stories involving thing 1 and thing 2 and cell phone's ....Ok, back to the story. did I mention how much I love Margaritville? The place is just hopping and even though the food wasn't the best, the atmosphere is wonderful not to mention those margartia's. I really started to relax and hey isn't that what vacation is about? We finally meet up with the second family. The older boy's want to take off for a while so we let them roam around. They played some games and walked around aimlessly (but hey, if you were 15, 15 and 17 boys would you want to hang around citiwalk with your parents?). Finally after some catching up, my body was catching up with me - sleep that is. I decided that we needed to call it a night and head back over to the Portifino for our one night stay. We decided to meet everytone at 9:00 am an IOA tomorrow morning. That meant we had to get out of the hotel by 8:00, check in to Hard Rock and get over to the park by 9:00. DH was skeptical, but I assured him it was doable. We rode the boat back to the Portofino (it is beautiful at night, Citiwalk is lit up and the Portofino has a romantic feel at night). We arrive back at the hotel and settle in for the night. Tomorrow is early rise to shower and head out out. Stay tuned for Day 2....

thanks for the great report. Its nice to hear about those " other parks/ complex" too! Keep em coming,
Claire
