Hi everyone. We just found out we are expecting again and we have a WDW trip planned for May. I will turn 8 months pregnant while there. It is DH myself and our will be 3.5 yo dd. I went when I was pregnant with her but I was only 20 week along then. My DH and I are wondering if we should go since we won't go back until the baby is over a year old or will I be too far along to do anything. Let's just pretend that the dr says I am fit to go and fly no issues there and my airline allows it (already checked). We take rest breaks in the afternoon and nap or swim. We get to the parks early and stay until lunch then go back later for dinner and a show if we are all up to it.

So anyone with experience going late in pregnancy? Did you do any rides like dumbo or small world? Did you fit? Lol

I went in May at 30 weeks... It was rough...I had a great time but came home with a staph infection on my vajayjay lol...which I'm guessing I got from the bath tub bc I had to sit in it to help with the swelling from all the walking. Really I should have gotten a wheelchair! Would I go again that pregnant.... Only if it was in the winter time!

I would never fly in my last trimester. I went to Florida (not Disney) in my second trimester, but too much can happen in the last trimester. I would wait if it was me.

My mom lived in Daytona when she was pregnant with me, and went to Disney on March 15, 1979 for my dad's birthday. She rode Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain without any problems.

I was born April 1, 1979. Granted, she only gained about 15 lbs when she was pregnant (and I was 6 lbs 6 oz of that) so she didn't really "show" and nobody questioned her, and she'd been going to the park off and on the whole time she was pregnant, so I guess it was kinda like that woman that is doing ballet at 38 weeks.

The walking doesn't bother me much as u walked two miles a day with my first pregnancy right up until the night before I gave birth. Well I took a 2 mile walk I'm sure my actual walking for the day was higher. I'm also 25 lbs lighter starting this on but I also know one pregnancy can be completely different from the other. I think my DH is leaning heavily toward canceling though. He's probably right lol I just really wanted this last trip just the three of us. This baby is a complete surprise and a bc pill fail lol
Thanks for the replies so far.

Could you possibly go earlier? I have been while pregnant and chasing after other kids. I swear that is a whole different level of tired!

It really depends on your pregnancy. My first I felt so great I probably could have gone to WDW (although I would have been really slow and would have needed a LOT of breaks at 8 months pregnant). However I am pregnant again and this time I have been super sick and it is not letting up. I would definitely not go on a trip if I had the choice this time.

How far is WDW for you? I started getting bad braxton hicks at 8 months last time and actually had my DS 1 1/2 early. I know some airlines won't let you fly within 30 days of your due date. Just keep those things in mind :) Good luck!

I just wouldn't. Having been pregnant 4 times, I just know that at the end I am miserable. And forget the flight- I am in the bathroom every 15 minutes. I would rather go to Disney with a newborn than hugely pregnant.

I second these sayings. Take a newborn, don't go pregnant. With having a kiddo already, by that point, you will be tired all the time. My second was born at 38 weeks when it was hot and humid and I just wanted to relax before. I would buy have wanted to do Disney. We did go to Six Flags when he was 6 weeks old and it was no biggie to handle a tiny baby.

No way would I go. May is fairly hot and humid, so the risk of dehydration isn't worth it to me. The other option is to stay super hydrated, which means TONS of potty breaks at 8 months pregnant. All your daughter will remember is her tour of the potties at WDW ;-)

I went in October 2012 when I was 32 weeks pregnant. I have a 7 year old DD so I wasn't really chasing anyone around. I had a nice trip but was very tired out. We tried to keep it low key and take lots of breaks.

That is what I'm thinking. Low key and just enjoy. We usually go in May and Oct/Nov so we are used to the weather and keeping hydrated. I'm so torn lol

We went when I was 32 weeks pregnant with my 3rd (I had a 2.5 year old and 4.5 year old as well) and we went the last week of May. It was hot and I was definitely uncomfortable but it really wasn't so bad. I did get really swollen the last 3 or so days there (we did 6 park days) and I had a lot of pelvic pain but I also had PSD so I don't know that I could blame it on Disney. We do parks from opening pretty much right up until closing time, we aren't take a break people and I was fine. I just brought tons of water and sat down when I needed to. My other 2 girls weren't tall enough to do the big rides so that wasn't an issue, I rode pretty much everything they rode and we had a great time. We plan on going this February and I'll be 24 weeks with my 4th so obviously going pregnant didn't phase me.

I just wan to add that sometimes babies come early. My daughter was born three weeks early. She was healthy and weighed 7lbs, but I wouldn't want to be in another state with an early arrival.

if you do go wear a heart rate monitor. i did and i was astounded to see how easilly my heart rate went 'too high.' for pregnant women it is important b/c at a certain number it means your body is taking away blood supply to the baby to use it to power yourself. it went 'too high' slowly vacuuming, barely riding a bike.. if i pedaled any slower i'd lose balance.. all at the end of my pregnancy.. so i would really watch all that walking and if you have to carry luggage or anything else you may not realize it. also i read that on airplanes the oxygen level is lower being all the way up in the plane which is not good to have lower oxygen levels in your blood for the baby's sake. If you do go, make sure to wear belly support. When i was 8 months pregnant going grocery shopping was enough to tire me out. I personally would not go.

As someone who has experienced more than one complication between 32 and 40 weeks, I would not be comfortable being more than a few hours drive from home.

Wow good luck! I could barely go food shopping without being exhausted.
I think as long you rest a lot and you got your ok from you doctor you should be ok.
My doctor did not want me on an airplane after 32 weeks.

I have gone while in my first trimester in April and will be going again this year with 2 kids and just starting my third trimester. We drive down from NJ every year so flying doesn't change my plans. The way I see it.... it is a vacation my other kids look forward to every year, to cancel it would crush them. So I will take it easy, take breaks, and maybe a few naps :)
My husband usually hears me say "Can we slow the pace down" and of course immediately does.
One night my husband even brought the kids for a few hours by himself :)

Ask your doctor. My guess is he/she will say no. Too risky. Wait three or four months and bring the baby. We brought our twins at three months and it was fun and easy. Easiest trip we've done with them.
