We took our boys to wdw for the first time in may of 2014. We had a wonderful time! My husband and our boys are huge Star Wars fans. We had planned another wdw trip for next year may of 2016, however with all the upcoming construction in Hollywood Studios should we hold off another year in hopes that most of the construction will be completed?

Impossible to answer. If the rumored SW expansion at DHS is eventually confirmed, I don't think it would be mostly completed even by 2017.

There will always be some construction or rides being down no matter what year or month or day you visit. The best bet would be to go whenever works best for your family and make the best out of whatever condition the parks are currently in.

Agreed. Our First trip was this past seprember and the hub was under construction - if a person waited until there was no constructoin or referbishments, that person would never go

My answer was not meant to imply that all construction would be finished, only that the rumored SW expansion construction (the core of the OP's question) would not likely be finished before their possible trip in either 2016 or 2017. Sorry if that was unclear.

thanks Mesaboy2! We are not afraid of construction or rides being closed for refurbishment, we also experienced this in may of 2014. We are mainly concerned about the status of the Star Wars expansion. We are planning to hit 2 SW weekends during our next trip and thought if the expansions would possibly be complete we would wait until 2017. Thank you for all your help!
