:goodvibesI have reservations at WCC on my son's 4th birthday for dinner. We are at MK all day and originally called to schedule a Pirate and Pal cruise and the CM talked me into dinner at WCC as well. She suggested we take the boat from MK to WCC for our 6:45 resservation and then back again to get to Contemporary by 8:30 for the cruise. After I hung up I thought it sounded like way too much running around. What do you think? Or, should we just do WCC and watch fireworks in Mk? Or eat dinner somewhere else, I was thinking Kona, but other festive suggestions closeby greatly appreciated! And then do the cruise after dinner?

Those that have experienced them, is the cruise or WCC better for a 4 yr old?

Thanks so much!:goodvibes

I can only speak to my experience with WCC. Wonderful for kids and adults alike if you love the interactive experience. If you prefer to be left alone while you eat, it's probably not the place to go. :goodvibes

It seems like too much of a hassle to me. I haven't tried WCC yet but I have heard that dinner can take a long time. If you are seated late, dinner takes to long, you miss the boat to CR and have to wait you will be cutting it very close. Why not eat at CR? Chef Mickey's? Pirates and Pals is a lot of fun!

I have never tried WCC but we love kona. The food was excellent and the service was great. Your 4 yr old would love the kona cone dessert. It is huge and has ice cream and cotton candy and chocolate.

I've eaten at both but thought the food at Kona was better and, quite honestly, it is the food and not the show or shtick I care about when I am in a restaurant.

Thanks for the input, we do have a breakfast reservation at CM, thats why we aren't doing character for dinner. Our itinerary has changed a bit, I wish I had scheduled Ohana for this night, and now I can't get it, which is why I was looking into Kona. Are the menus similar? Also, If we eat at Kona should we still do Ohana later or switch?

You can see many of the menus here and compare them. Keep in mind that while the DIS tries to keep the menus updated sometimes there are changes that don't get caught right away.

I would choose WCC for the experience for your DS on his birthday. That place is a hoot :) You will love it. I would work out the rest around that.

I would still book Ohana even if you are doing Kona. The menus are different. I would pick Ohana breakfast over the dinner though.
