WCC for adults and...?

We have been to WDW probably 60 times and have never eaten here. We are taking our 4 adult children, all in their 20's, plus 2 bf's so our party is 8 adults. We do love the atmospheric restaurants like oHana, Sci-fi and 50's and I'm wondering if WCC is a similar experience? My other concern is how long it will take to get there from SSR using Disney transportation. I don't want it to take up an entire evening of a Magic Kingdom day. Any advice?

Putting aside my personal feelings for WCC, it's a good place for larger groups. It also has a fun element which you will likely enjoy given your statement above, provided you have a server who enjoys playing around. Even is said server doesn't do much, there all always other servers at tables doing something you can vicariously enjoy. Since you've never been, I'd say give it a try. As for transportation, always allow an hour when going from a resort to another resort as a rule of thumb. That being said, you might think about going directly to WCC from MK via a boat, one of the nice perks of the Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks, it looks like it would be fun, just have to decide if the transportation time is worth it.

It is a ton of fun and the Lodge is so gorgeous - totally worth the time. If you decide not to head there directly from MK, then just take an uber from your resort to the lodge - super easy peasy! If you are new to Uber, holler and I will send you my code so you get your first ride for free (up to $10).

WCC is great for a big group, and I agree with PP above re: the boat transportation from MK, if that's how you decide to roll! I love the boat options at WDW.

Went as all adults. We enjoyed and had an awesome server. I could have done without all the kids running around and doing some horse thing .. it made a really loud restaurant even louder. Haven't gone back due to the chaos but it was fun once.

But the hotel is beautiful, one of their best. Worth seeing. Wander around and outside to the courtyard too.

I drive so I avoid the 90 minute commute.

I think it is a great choice, and Wilderness Lodge is beautiful as others mentioned. I agree if you are going to MK that day, head there and take boat over and back.

It is worth the trip just to have a look round the Lodge if you havent been before. WCC now give you a place mat with Green/Red to advise if you want to take part in the "fun". (Although - if you don't want to take part in the fun then I don't know hwy you would book there in the first place :-) ) It is a good place to eat once per trip in a group but be prepared for numerous kids to be running around. And make sure you ask for Ketchup at least once! Don't know when your next trip is, but WL is due to have another table service open around Summer 2017 (Geyser Point bar and grille i believe).

From Saratoga Springs you have a couple of options. You can get the boat across to Disney Springs and get a Disney Bus to WL. But for a better arrival style and a good view of the lodge from the lake, I suggest getting a Disney Bus from Saratoga to MK then get the launch across to WL.

We are doing WL this summer for the 4th time and love it - definitely suggest a visit for a look around.

We love it. BBQ is a change of pace from the Hamburger/Steak/Chicken/fish that most restaurants. We always take the boat from either CR or MK (we stop for a drink at the pool bar at CR) as there is a boat from each. We also like to make sure we get there early and enjoy a libation at either the trout pass pool bar or our favorite little drinking spot, Territory Pass which is right next to the backside of WCC. Also, WL is a great place to watch the electric water parade if it is going on that night and you are there as the sun goes down.
