We always had a food bowl out with dry food and the cats ate when they wanted and I filled it when it was low, regardless of time of day. It almost always had food so they could snack all day. I never thought of feeding them at one time only.

:confused3 What happened to the live turtles?

WE have 3 cats. 2 of 3 graze the 3 eats and eats. so she has to be kept outside so as not to over eat. but we only feed dry...

I thought kids could decide at a younger age than that where they wanted to live.

My cousin and Kyle's mother never went to court or had a lawyer. They came to an agreement betweent the two of them when Kyle was a baby. They have worked it out together throughout Kyle's life. He is now 18 and he is "asked" to keep the schedule that his mom and dad agreed upon. He continues to do it out of respect for his parents. Soon he will graduate and go away to college. Then he can stay where he wants to when he's home visiting. Kyle turned out to be a really good kid. He has manners and respect for others. Something I find lacking in most of our youth today.

Ella has dry cat chow that she eats all day long, but we also give her fancy feast small cans of food once a day. We choose to do that at night. That's when the dog gets fed too.

I don't have any of my turtles. I gave them to an an animal rescue where they are living in ponds with many other turtles. It's a lot of work and expense managing all the tanks that I had them in, so we will not be able to care for them in Florida. I had to find a good home for them and I think that I did.

Jan, I'd never heard of designated feeding times either. Glad I'm not the only one. And then when we go away for a weekend, I just put out a bigger bowl of food. But....maybe like people, some cats might not only eat when they're hungry and might eat just because it's there? :confused3

If I'd only read a little further before posting, LOL! Makes perfect sense. They don't all eat the same way. ;)

Good morning! :goodvibes. Trying to get moving and do something productive. The first step would be to sit up, LOL! Yup, still lying in bed (or couch, I should say). I desperately need to clean the bathroom and kitchen, but it's too overwhelming, so I will focus on the bathroom today. Plus all the running around, grocery shopping, laundry, etc. I'm so tired of being the only adult in the house. Sure, Tyler can help around the house, but it's not the same as an adult man could do, and he can't do the fixing/maintenance that most men know how to do. It's just overwhelming sometimes. Oh well.....such is life . Keep plugging away and be grateful I HAVE a home to live in.

So I texted 2 different guys yesterday who I'm friends with and said "Hey, if you're free this weekend, let me know if you want to do something." I figured one would be bound to get a hold of me, geez! LOL! Maybe they both hung out together last night. OOPS! :rotfl2::lmao:

I hate waking up and finding my eyes feel swollen. 3rd day in a row. Not sick, just feel like they're bulging. Strange feeling. Figured I was just tired, so I slept late today. Just need to get moving and that will go away in a while.

Don't tell that to Ella. Ella will come and get you if the sun goes down and you have not fed her the can of food. She will claw you and meow at you until you get up and feed her. Meanwhile, she has a whole bowl of dry food in her dish. It's just not the same.

When was the last time you had your thyroid checked? Or blood work for thyroid levels.

I know what you mean. I'm very greatful that I have John to do many things. Even though he's a procrastinator and will put things off until the last minute, he will get them done with a lot of prodding by me. I am thankful.

How bizarre! I wonder what it's from. Glad it goes away easily.

I guess they are just too busy to respond. How rude! I think they should have at least returned your text. Oh well. Men today I guess. No manners.

Hi Cork!!! How are you today? We got another dusting of snow last night. Everything is white again. Fortunately there is not enough to plow. Hopefully it will melt off if we get some sun outside.

Good Morning Holly. Hope it's a good day for you today.

I keep thinking about all those poor people on Carnival. I told John I would not eat anything because I could not poop in a bag. I would drink liquids only and pee in the toilet without flushing it.

I can't even imagine them having to think about doing that much less that they actually did it. I would own Carnival Cruise Lines by now for as much as I would sue them for.

I bet they are all meeting with lawyers today.

Well, the one I really like, Carlos, did respond, he just said "OK, sounds good." Had lunch with him earlier in the week. We've known each other since August 2001 when we sat together at orientation for our UPS job. A bit of history. I've always liked him, we had a few dates over the years, but he's skittish. Our coworkers and his friends ALL told me he liked me a lot and not to give up on him.

The other who didn't respond, Alex, I didn't expect him to. He hangs out with a group of guys every night. And he wouldn't want me to think he's interested because he's not available in that way. He's the maintenance guy for our landlord at work and his boss has a strict policy that he can't date tenants. Understandable, so I really shouldn't put him on the spot like that, but we did go out for drinks once. The night before Thanksgiving. He said he'd like to hang out with me more but is afraid of risking his job.

Turn out they are friends. Went to high school together. In fact, at lunch with Carlos, he told me he saw Alex the previous weekend and told me to tell him hi for him and tell him he wants to hang out with him soon. They both sometimes hang out at the place Alex and I had drinks that one night. Small world!

Probably years ago, I don't know. I don't have insurance, so can't often fit it into my budget to get those things checked out. I know I need to sacrifice our yearly vacation to do these things but desperately need the get away. My employer is working on getting insurance for me. They're close. Were to the point of getting quotes and showing me what they found, but then had to leave state for a couple weeks for a family emergency. Boss' wife is still there straightening things out, and she's the office manager, so that's on hold until she gets back. Anyway, point is, I have lot of things that need to be checked out as soon as I have insurance. Getting there, slowly but surely. ;)

You are very lucky. That's the worst part about single life. And I'm getting lonely. Been single too many years. Oh well.....must keep plugging away until I find out what's waiting for me in life! :)
