Hey everyone - just wanted to say thank you for still having this thread going, it is comforting to come "home" every once and a while and still see familar names and catch up on things. Life has been very different for us this past 16 months since our last cruise and hopefully we will get to cruise again. I have stayed away from disboards as a whole because I was not dealing well with not being able to cruise. Things are looking better and have booked for the 2014 both TA's - now to save for them (and airfare!)

well i booked the 12 day med cruise that does both mykinos and santorini. we will see how that and a thieves trip work out!!!
it starts in Venice and finishes in Barcelona. also goes to Malta and Turkey.

its the only 12 day in july that does both Mykonos and Santarini. i think july 14 or so. but if the thieves do a july date i will change...(MAYBE)... depends if i get air.

Holly- I'm sorry Tyler's dad didn't break him the bad news. It's definitely not fair that he expects you to do it hopefully you can work out something else fun for him. He seems like such a sweet kid.

I had too much salt tonight too. We wound up meeting my dad and siblings at Friendly's after Olivia's ice skating lesson. So that was a fun Valentine's treat, and cost me less to take 7 people to dinner than most people are paying for 2 tonight. I'm glad to have my Minnie Mouse water bottle on my nightstand though, because I'm really thirsty from all that salt.

I LOVE Friendly's. What a great way to spend Valentine's Day with all the people that you love. Very cool.

Good for Olivia to be taking skating lessons. I bet you she's good at it. YAY!

Hi Krisann....so sorry that the last year or so has been bad. I'm very glad that it's over and you're booked on your favorite cruises again.

That's the cruise that I would do if I was in a position to book. Since I'm not, I can only hope that maybe there is a chance we can do this cruise at a later date.

My point exactly.

I found out about the new itineraries being posted from you guys on Facebook. I got an e-mail Thursday inviting me to book on Friday since we are SILVER.
NOT
we are PLATINUM

So I wrote and told them that:
1.) I had been on the phone Wednesday with a website tech checking to find out why I was not getting e-mails and she said everything was as it should be, she did not have to change anything.

2.) This release was done when Tom was out of town on business so booking the first day for the lowest price was not possible since we could not discuss options.

3.) I wish they would consider earlier notification of new itineraries
as a perk for Platinum Cruisers. It would cost the company little or
nothing and would give us a considerable benefit when planning for time
away to enjoy a Disney Cruise as well as the opportunity to coordinate
with our adult children if we are trying to book a family cruise.
Little cost and increased liklihood of bookings would benefit DCL and
improved family communications for Platinum cruisers would result in a
win-win situation!

This is the response I got back:

Thank you choosing another Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I would be happy to assist you.

Although you received the email in error stating you were a 'Silver
Castaway Club Member', the important part is what is displayed in our
reservation system and online under the special Castaway Club section.
You and Thomas are most definitely Platinum Castaway Club Members!

As far as earlier than 24 hours notification for the itineraries, we
have tried different timeframes in the past. It was determined that
'teasing' our Guests with the itineraries and then having the date the
booking can be reserved at more than 24 hours tended to lead to
frustration. As such, it was found that making the announcement via the
media, our website, and by email proved to be the best means for opening
up our saildates. However, this could always change in the future.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance with any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us.

While the "important part" is that the system knows we are Platinum, what matters about the e-mail system thinking we are Silver is that we lost a potential booking day.

Friends and I have been discussing the release of itineraries one day and opening booking the next today. Everyone of us would prefer a window for planning before the booking window opens. All of us would rather have some time to check work schedules and coordinate with friends and family members. Several of us enjoy cruising with people we have met on DCL on previous cruises. We need time to discuss this.
We ask that this timetable be reconsidered.

Glad your migraine finally went away.

So sorry for Tyler not wanting to go with his father.

My cousin's kid who goes back and forth from dad to mom.....hates going to his mother's house. His mom is remarried and has two little ones. Kyle hates going there. He said they are not his siblings. He would rather stay with my cousin. He just turned 18 in January, so he has to finish this school year and then he goes away to college. So he won't ever have to stay over at his mom's again. He can visit her and leave.

That's going to happen to Tyler one day too.

I thought kids could decide at a younger age than that where they wanted to live.

Each county has their own rules. When I was a kid it was 15 where we lived. Here it's 18. Tyler would never choose though because he would never want to hurt anybody's feelings. Unless his dad told him "you don't have to come if you don't want to."

Deborah - I used to live in Sao Paulo, but haven't been back to Brazil/Brasil since 1980. Only reason we'd be going there, is to see the Falls from the other side. I believe those are more amazing than on the Argentine side.

I would LOVE to see those falls! Have fun!

Take something with a decongestant and hopefully you'll feel better soon.

You're going to love having Freckles in your life. One trick.....feed her at night not in the morning. She won't know that it's Saturday or Sunday and that you want to sleep in. She will wake you up if it's feeding time. Ella reminds me every night when it's time. But that I can deal with.

Growing up, my mom would feed our cats in the morning when she went to work at the post office at 5am. On the weekends the cats still wanted to eat at 5am. Mom's bedroom door would be closed, so they came and woke me up.

Just know that whenever you set her time to eat, she is going to pester you to remind you at that time everyday.

Very interesting

We always had a food bowl out with dry food and the cats ate when they wanted and I filled it when it was low, regardless of time of day. It almost always had food so they could snack all day. I never thought of feeding them at one time only.

Though Jasper prefers to lay in the chair behind me and slowly pushes until I'm sitting on just the edge.
