Ian, you are the best storyteller:thumbsup2
Here's my story:
Raining and raining. Basement is leaking. Called for help. Help came. $500.00 later, basement is dry ;) :lmao: :lmao:

Kathe
Yikes! But I'm glad you're dry now! :goodvibes

Deb, you need to do whatever your doctor says is best to keep your legs in the best condition possible right now. We don't want you in the hospital again.

Yes, yes.....it's amazing how we feel like we're invincible.....thanks for reminding me.....we do NOT want to go back to the hospital!

I dehydrate so easily, I used to be a frequent Gatorade guzzler. BUT I just discovered something that works just as well and has no sugar and no calories. It's called Powerade Zero. There's a line on the top of the label that I just love, it says "ATTENTION! You are now in control of a zero calorie sports drink + B-vitamins. Be advised that you may be swarmed by fans who want to witness the power of electrolytes, hydration and zero calories. Good luck with that." :rotfl2: Cracks me up! But seriously, I've found it works just as well as Gatorade. :thumbsup2

Thanks for that info Holly. I'll look for it when I'm in FL.

Ok - here are some pics from last weekend at WDW.

The MK has Halloween decorations up already:

And we realize we have worn the same green shirts on all 3 trips down so far - but DIS green is an awesome color :thumbsup2

They're ok... still in AZ... not sure what will happen later in the week....I've stopped cleaning... why should I sanitize if they won't be coming... regular cleaning works for the rest of us... ;)

Sorry they're not coming, but I'm so glad they're ok. How is your brother in law?

:wizard:

Oh they could still show up on my doorstep in a few days... but she's going to insist they go home - electricity or not... until she finds out she can't fly back right away... and although she's at a nice resort... :confused3

Part of me feels ok that they will probably be able to go home soon... the other part is the nurturer... I want to help and I have to wait to see what they want to do...it's just me... :upsidedow

Hi Deb!!!!

Ok... now I know this is going to be hard to remember cause I do it too...

THIS IS A VACATION!!!!

I know you and John want to go and conquer WDW... and do EVERYTHING!!!... but you don't have to do it all in one day!!! Small bites.... lots of wonderful lovely breaks inbetween and definately plan some things that you can enjoy that won't take alot of running around, etc... You didn't mention where you are staying, but enjoy the resort!!!

& let John spoil you a little... (as if he doesn't already do that!!! )

Oh sure, you're right too Michelle.....we do want to do it all....and usually I can do so with my steroids. I'll have to do without them and see what happens.

We're staying off property because we save lots of money that way. We'll be at Staybridge Suites near DTD. It's a nice area and they have a great pool and hot tub too.

I'll just have to learn to take it slow! YUCK!:headache:  :confused3

A bit... I stayed up all night last night so I slept in late and then took a nap - haven't talked to the happy refugees today - I imagine they went to find something interesting to do... Brian was bored yesterday (code for worried out of his skin... )

Poor Brian. I bet he's worried about his dad.

do what you think is best for the two of you. Hope you get to see DD & the boys though... :grouphug:

She may beg off because her husband doesn't want her to go. He likes to keep her isolated from her family and under his control. Fortunately he does not hit her, but she's definitely mentally abused and doesn't even know it. And they both know how we feel about him.

:cutie:

Deb, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin and hope doctors can quickly figure out what's going on.

The poor kid, he's 11 years younger than me, he has gone thru so many medical procedures over the years. He's way too young to have so much wrong with him. I hope they find it and fix it too.

That's got to be hard for you Michelle, feeling like you need to do something but have to just sit back and wait to see what happens. I'll keep them in my thoughts so that everything works out for everyone. You, hang in there. Just call and talk to your sis a lot. That may help.

If not, eat some of mom's muffins!

Lisa, GREAT pictures.......thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to get there and do Epcot with you and Darrell. We're going to have such a great time!

Monica said she'll try to make it for the opening, but she will definitely meet us there.

Ten days to go, I'm getting very excited!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Lisa, I LOVE the pictures! Thanks for posting them, I can't wait to show Tyler in the morning! :goodvibes

I'm tired of reading. I just went through Tyler's "Friday folder" and there were lots of forms to fill out and lots of info to read, including the school calendar so we know what days they don't have school. So I have a pile of forms that I filled out that have to be returned to school in the folder on Monday, the school calendar that I have to scan and email to his dad, and the conferences form that I have to email his dad about to find out what day works best for both of us. If HE would open Tyler's damn backpack maybe I wouldn't be the only one keeping track of all this crap. Fortunately, no homework was sent home in it again, none yet this school year, otherwise we'd have to rush through doing it tomorrow. Same as last year, he never bothers with it. And that's why he's clueless as to what days school is closed for stuff and gets pissed when he has to try to figure out last minute what to do with Tyler on a Thurs or Fri when there's no school. DUH! If read the crap they send home, he'd know what's going on. :sad2:

OK, sorry, just had to vent. Last year I asked him to check every Friday to find out any info he needs to know too, and stick it back in the folder so I can also read it all. His answer was that at the end of the week he just wants to relax and have fun with Tyler or out with his buddies. :sad2: :headache:

SORRY! I feel better now. End of my grumbling.

Oh, forgot to mention one funny. The Ice Queen was, as usual, nowhere in sight! :rotfl2: I did see her on Wednesday when I dropped Tyler off, and she FINALLY made eye contact (without glaring at me), so I figured she was over her pissy fit, but maybe not. :lmao:

Did I scare everybody away? ;)

That's OK, I'm headed to bed anyway. Planning on lying in bed and reading until I fall asleep. My absolute favorite way to end a day. :cloud9:

Mom has moved onto some cooler weather foods... tonight was stuffed cabbage... :goodvibes

(I know...it's not everyones favorite... but I like hers...)

Night Holly.... :cloud9:

Getting caught up again after missing checking in yesterday.

Cherie - Great pictures from the celebration and DL.

Gaylean - that's crazy that you're fingerprints are taking so long. Can you call the fingerprint place and check with them directly? Hope Ethan is feeling better.

QUOTE=Tigger1221;27519595]I toldd him he has to practice before we leave since he is a klutz like me. I told them I don't want to be talked about on the DIS.
[/QUOTE]

I'm sure you're dad won't be talked about. Honest accidents are fine. ::yes:: The awful lady was completely self-centered and did not care who got in her way

The problem is I don't measure anything

Here is a go of it :lmao:

1 egg per pound of meat (I use 3 pounds and 3 eggs)

a bunch of saltines crumbled up in my hands

onion powder, garlic salt and Italian seasonings

ragu

I mix it all together, with my hands and put it in a baking dish. Then I put the rest of the Ragu on top and bake at 350 for an hour and check it to see if it is done. Sometimes it needs a few more minutes.

I've never had a complaint and it is easy.

That's almost identical to my grandmother's recipe, except ketchup instead of ragu. And she always said the best meatloaf was a mis of ground beef, pork and veal. ::yes::

Back to getting caught up. Only 30pgs to go ;)

Kathe

We've had the basement flood many times, but from water coming up through the drains in the floor.

I put in a flood gate years ago in the sewer. The problem was when the rain was bad, the flood gate would close (which it is supposed to do) but then the water coming off the roof and into the sewer would come up into the basement. Better than sewage but still not nice. Hence rerouting the downspout to go out the back.

I can sympathize a leaky basement.
