Well, I have to leave work in about an hour to go pick Tyler up and take him to his first med check appointment at the psychiatrist. I think I'm not nervous this appointment, despite his dad AND stepmom saying they're going to come too. After all, we're only slotted into a 15 min spot just basically to say, yes we see improvements and no side effects (at least that's what I'm saying) and the doctor will check Tyler's vitals and that's it. No time for them to say all they planned on saying. I think they don't realize it's not a full hour appointment like last time and I'm not nice enough to enlighten them.

And since Tyler will be there with us, they'd better not say anything ugly. I plan on only giving the Dr. a quick summary of how he's only had a couple rough days at school since starting the meds, as compared to almost every day being in trouble, and that's it. No need to say more.

Oh, and my doctor gave me the OK to resume St. Johns Wort with the meds I'm taking. Yippee!!! But the nurse was quite snotty about it. She told me, "The Dr. would have told you if it wasn't OK to take them together." Um.....the reason I'm questioning it is because I thought he told me not to. Good grief. As happy as I was while taking it, I surely wouldn't voluntarily stop taking it. So.....now I can be my happy & cheery self again in just a few short days. I remember how quickly it worked last time and I'm nowhere near as down as I was back then.

Holly - hope Tyler's appointment is as stress-free as you're expecting. Can you send your neighbour kid to mow my lawn?

Didn't watch any Olympics last night, but did watch some over the weekend. I enjoy watching some of the events. I like seeing the underdog come in and do better than expected. I feel sorry for one of the Canadian swimmers. She missed her first event because she's come down with chicken pox What a disappointment for her and her family.

Sounds like many of you have many trips planned. It feels strange to have no trips in the planning after having trips in planning stages for the last few years.

We got the IndianaJones Lego game for the Wii and its very amusing. I'm really not very skilled and keep walking off cliffs and occasionally smacking Indy (Ken) with a shovel or wrench

Jan, before I scrolled down to read your info under the map, as I looked at the map, I wanted to say she'd have to go much farther to go where Tyler is itching to visit. He wants to go to Whitefish Point because of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Then I laughed when I read your info about that. He straightened me out last night. Somehow the topic came up about traveling up north when I was talking to my dad on the phone. I mentioned Tyler wanting to go somewhere near where the EF went down because of the shipwreck museum there (my friend who grew up in Paradise, MI told him about the museum). Tyler had to correct me and tell me, "Mom, they were trying to get to Whitefish Bay, you should know that." OK, smart aleck! He really wants to go see the bell though. So, we had to read the book again at bedtime last night.

That's ok, cause I'm gonna have to come a stay at your house on the way up...

Firstly, thank you everyone for your kind words. I have very stressful deadline driven job (not that I'm alone in this).

Yesterday I literally only left my chair to go to the bathroom. I worked continuously without a break of any kind from 7:30 AM to 5:10 PM. I had a headache and my back was hurting.

The problem is that I really have 3 bosses all with their own priorities.

Today is a much better day.

John has the Indiana Jones Lego game. It is brilliant, and the lego actually enhances the game surprisingly.

If you walk into things as Indiana Jones at least you won't hurt yourself!!!

Brilliant is the perfect description for the game! Its funny how many little details and humour they've added. They've used StarWars pieces for humour. Last night we saw poor Luke Skywalker stuck in the ceiling of a cave (from Empire Strikes Back), and the night before Indy tried to hand over C3P0's head instead of the golden idol. Ken had the Lego StarWars game for the computer.

I'll tell Ken's he's missed and he should sign on again - he was on a few days ago. Its football season so his attention is divided. Before the cruise he stayed on top of things and kept me in the loop, and now we've switched!

Yes, Tyler picks strange books from the library. I was telling my dad about one time he picked one about nuclear waste. My dad then laughed when I told him about the time Tyler picked a book called "Crossing the Delaware" and I literally fell asleep reading it because it was SO BORING. I've always hated history, it always puts me to sleep. Figures I'd get stuck with a history nut kid. Another favorite library book was one about the Exxon Valdez. He was telling my mom about that event and she couldn't believe how accurate he was. Talk about dry reading. Yuck.

Now, I haven't noticed the Star Wars extras. John isn't too good at the game, and I haven't played any part at all. At the moment the Wii fit has taken over.

If you're curious at all about it, give it a try as a 2-player game. I mostly follow Indy-Ken around. I like that you play as a team, so its not just him kicking my butt

I went back on WiiFit again last night. I'm no where near meeting my weight loss goal. I've completely flat-lined But on a positive note, the exercises are getting easier and I think I'm firming up in some areas I tried the Island lap run yesterday and it was okay. Step, boxing and hula-hoop are still my favourites!

You're back! Have you got stories to share?

I thought I would have some pictures to share but Jon didn't put the pictures on the computer yet. Venetia hasn't sent me theirs yet. As for stories...I guess I could summarize for all that are interested.


We got there Friday at lunch time and met Venetia, Steph and Taylor at Venetia and Bubba's house. We went to Chilis for lunch and spoke to a jealous Bubba a few times on the phone because he had to work. We had a few drinks at lunch and headed back to their house. The rest of the night we just drank and played poker while the kids played video games. We went to bed at about 2:00 am. Saturday we went to a pizza place and celebrated 3 birthdays, Brooke, Emily (Tim and Lori's daughter) and Dom (Marr's son). Bubba and Venetia went all out and ordered a cake and we all brought gifts for the kids. Here is a list of the people that were there:

I hope I didn't forget anyone. We went to the fair after the party and had a great time eating and drinking beer. I did not see any fried pb cups so I was a little disappointed. Then we went back to their house to drink margaritas. All was well until Marr got her car towed at 1:00 am. She had to pay $250.00 to get it out of impound. So that was a serious buzz killer. Then we woke up to chirizo breakfast burritos and it made everything better.

I'm sure there is more but I'll have to see the pictures to remember I'll have Jon put them on tonight, even though I think Bubba's are better.
