I have NO desire to work today....well, it's really the sitting here part that I don't want to do.

I have a twinge of a headache & would prefer to either take a nap, or go out & make sure all the branches to that Christmas tree are accounted for. Then I can put it in my car & be delivered tomorrow.

I have a massage tomorrow at 8am (:scared1:) followed by a facial at 9am. I wanted to do them back 2 back, and that was the only time available. I figure, after that, I'll go by the GKTW village to drop off the tree and maybe see a movie. I'm supposed to go to a cook out at 4pm tomorrow - would prefer not to come home before that cuz then there's a chance I won't go back out.

Maybe I'll treat myself to a loooooong lunch w/ a book :)

That's the hard part about working at home....the dicipline to stay there when it's slow and there are other things you could be doing. You are good for sticking with it and doing the right thing.

Today, I'm doing NOTHING. I'm beat and exhausted from this week....between Ray and his doctors and packing out my things that I'm giving to my uncle. We have no plans for this weekend either and I want to keep it that way.

I can't wait for preseason football to start on August 11th. I need a good nap while watching my favorite team. hahaha.

NICE Shell.....that's one way to stay friendly! AND beat the heat!

Yeah... I've decided that it is Timmy that drives me nuts. Just spent a few hours with Kenney and we're fine...

Got my VERY first Mani/pedi today (a gift from my sister for my birthday...) I can get used to THAT....

I chose a nice mauvy wine color... I DID think about going turquoise like Cheri... but it wold have clashed with the dress... :rotfl:

Tonight is the rehearsal dinner... the guys survived last night.

Kenney said a toast at dinner last night To Mark and Victoria.....

Ummmmmmmmm... VERONICA!!!!!

OOPS.... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm SO SAD! I just made the final payment to Sue Ellen for the 4 night November cruise for stateroom 5150 and I'm not even going.:sick::sad2::sick:

To make matters worse.....I always told myself that I'll let Casey still go with Brittany because it's their engagement cruise. Now Casey told me that it's off because he has not been able to buy the ring yet. So he's not proposing to her onboard. DUH!!! Now I really am sad. That was my reason for justifying paying for him and Britt to be on this cruise without me. I don't have a heart to pull the plug on them. Now the first leg is paid in full anyway. Next pay I'll be paying the second leg in full. They might as well go and enjoy themselves. I just feel odd having made the final payment and I'm not elated. I'm sad.:guilty::eek:

Why aren't you going?

Why aren't you going?

We chose to do Hawaii....time and money, we just can't do them all. And by the time I pay for his room and my room.....doing verhanda's coz that's all that is available.....paying for both rooms is just about the same price that I'm paying for us to go to Hawaii. Besides, John said....If I go back to Nassau one more time.....DONE! ....And John doesn't have enough time off to do this week and the Hawaii two week. He takes lots of single days off from time to time. For example, he's taking off on August 31st to help move my uncle.

I love wine color....it goes very nice with the dress. But where's the pictures?

OK we like Kenny not Timmy.....got it.

Mark is marrying Veronica (like Archie)!!

Shell dyed her hair.

I think I'm up to speed now. Thanks for the update. I'm waiting for some rehersal dinner pictures so I can see the bride and groom.

you're up to date and I'm exhausted...:rotfl:

I can't post pics until Brian comes home with his laptop tomorrow... so until then.... :confused3

Well at least you're exhausted from having fun. It could be worse.

OK I'll wait until Brian comes home with the laptop. Is he Mark's brother or cousin? Is he the best man?

Deb, those hair combs are very nice.:thumbsup2 If they price comes back a little more than you wanted to spend, I KNOW some of us 'original' Champagne Girls would be willing to kick in something. (no one has to know);)

Michelle, hope you have a great time...and everyone behaves themselves!

.

Ditto! I'd be happy to contribute a little. :thumbsup2

Totally exhausted. My co-worker Jan was off Thurs and Fri, and it's impossible for 1 person to do our job. It's a 3 person job, so the 2 of us are usually buried. Take it down to 1 person and it's misery. Fridays always stink because she works Mon through Thurs (she just works 10 hours those 4 days to get all her hours). She's been there 10 years, so she's entitled to do that, I acknowledge that, but I just hope I'm allowed to do the same at some point. That will hinge on them hiring somebody who sticks around long term when she retires and taking a couple years for me to fully train that person to a level of competence where our guys would feel comfortable letting that person hold down the fort alone every Friday.

Anyway, 2 days of flying solo was made even worse because of knowing she'll be on her own all week next week without me, so I was trying my hardest to get everything caught up before leaving yesterday. No such luck. I think the stress of trying to do the impossible got to me. Oh well, it's out of my hands now.

Have to volunteer at the fair tonight for 6 hours, so not what I want to do, but I committed, so I'm stuck. Oh well. Will need to clean the car out at some point so we can load up to hit the road Monday morning. :goodvibes

I know I've probably mentioned all this before, but I'm super excited, so I'm sorry for the repeat info, LOL!!!!!

Our hotel is in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, which is the oldest city in Michigan.

http://www.saultstemarie.com/

LOTS of history, perfect for Tyler, including some supposedly "haunted" places which he wants to check out. :thumbsup2

It's about a 4 and a half hour drive up to the hotel, and we're hoping to get there in time to have lunch in the area, then check in to the hotel on Monday. After checking in, we're planning on heading over to the Locks to watch boats go through and then just "wing it" the rest of the first day because we'll probably be tired from all those hours in the car. Hotel has an indoor pool, so maybe just some swimming, I don't know, whatever strikes us.

Tuesday the plan is to head up to Whitefish Point to go to Tyler's highlight of the trip, the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. He wants to see the bell which was recovered from the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck and has been wanting to go here for 3 years now! This is what prompted the trip, I just had to build more stuff around it. :thumbsup2 http://www.shipwreckmuseum.com/

After the shipwreck museum, we'll head down to Paradise to Tahquamenon Falls State Park. http://www.superiorsights.com/information/tahquamenonfalls/ There's one path that leads to a moose viewing area, which is what I'm hoping most to see this trip. Every since living in Wyoming for a while in Grand Teton National Park and seeing moose regularly, I've just loved them!

Wednesday the plan is to drive across the International Bridge into Sault Ste Marie, Ontario and head to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center: http://www.bushplane.com/visitors-canadian-bushplane-heritage/ Looks so fun!

After that we'll head back over to MI and visit the Point Iroquois Lighthouse: http://www.terrypepper.com/lights/superior/iroquois/iroquois.htm (if we can make it on time, otherwise we might have to squeeze that in another day).

Thursday we're planning on spending the day on Mackinac Island. I purchased a package deal that includes the ferry ride to the island, an hour narrated carriage tour of the island, a museum of historical carriages, and entrance to Fort Mackinac: http://www.mackinacparks.com/fort-mackinac/

Friday, after checking out of the hotel, we plan on visiting a retired freighter turned into a museum: http://www.thevalleycamp.com/museum-ship-valley-camp-3/ Tyler's super excited about that one because in the cargo hold area of the ship there is a display of wreckage from the Edmund Fitzgerald.

We'll head back down to the lower peninsula afterwards and if we find an interesting place to stay along the way, will spend another night somewhere and get home late Saturday. I just got tired of planning and decided we'll just "wing it" the last day and go where the wind blows us, see whatever strikes our fancy.

We're also trying to coordinate a get together with my childhood best friend Connie (we met when I was 5 and she was 4 when her family moved into the house 2 houses away from ours). We were inseparable until she moved away for college and boys came between us. We had a falling out and lost contact for about 10 years, had brief contact but still had bad feelings, so we lost contact again until 2001 when we got together when she was in town and went to a football game together. We've been trying to repair our relationship over these past years, I even went to her wedding in 2003, and we've both kept updated with each others' kids and lives. Hoping for a wonderful reunion! We both feel it's time and have put the past completely behind us. :goodvibes

You guys are all WAY too nice. I thank you and I will keep it in mind, but I don't believe it will be necessary. Thanks so much for the thought and the offer. You're all awesome!!

What a fascinating and fun vacation. I LOVE the Edmond Fitzgerald and the whole story. Joan Biaz sings about it and I have always been intrigued. I LOVE that you lived in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. I didn't know that and would love to learn more about it.....like how old were you and how long did you live there? Waking up to see Moose everyday sounds perfect....I get excited just seeing Deer.

It's great to grow up and remend relationships with great friends. That happened to me in my youth with my oldest friend from high school. I was mad about having to spend too much money on her for her wedding. I was her maid of honor. I was very young at the time. How foolish to let that come between good friends. We are fine today....have been for the past 20 years. We were young 20's when we had our falling out and fortunately it didn't last that long.....just a few years. I'm happy for you that you'll get that friendship back.

I'm not doing anything today. Jan, you will be happy to know that today I am recharging my battery. No running errands, no shopping, no purging, no packing. I'm just chilling. I'll be taking a nap soon.

Well at least you're exhausted from having fun. It could be worse.

no... I'm just exhaused... fun.... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

& Brian is Mark's brother.. one of my kids... and he was a groomsmen...(they don't do ushers like we do...)

pictures are currently uploading to PB... there is ONE pic of the happy couple on FB...
