Holly, did I ever tell you that I LOVE the new Mickey in your signature. I feel like him all the time....just not tropical. haha.

Hi Shell!!!!

Hi Everybody!!!!

So Tom moved back in today. He was back and forth between here and the apartment he just left. Now he brought all his things here to stay. I'm happy about that. He's the boy I remember growing up, not the punk teenager that we all had to deal with. He's a nice young man....he just turned 21 this past April. He's doing day work labor when he can get it. He's looking for full time employment. Then he's going to pursue visitation rights or co-custody for Lily. Oh, I got more pics of her and I'll post them here. Sandi had been in touch with Rachel. But Tom said he needs to get steady work first so that he can send child support to Rachel. I'm proud of Tom for wanting to do it this way. He already has a contact with an organization that is an advocate for fathers seeking rights. They do it quickly and for the least amount of money. He's on the right road.

It seems that even though Rachel is living with her mother, she is on welfare. I didn't even know that you could do that. Sandi wasn't qualified for any aid when Tom and Kris were 2 and 3 years old when she lived with us. We paid for everything she couldn't afford. Her salary went to full time babysitter. That's all it covered. Rachel is living with her mother and not working and collecting welfare. I'm surprised to hear this. I know that she wants to go to culinary school. I guess welfare will pay for that too since she's a single mother. I'm not so sure that I agree that it's right. You mean, if I had become a mother when I was single....I could get my bills paid and an education for free. WOW!!! No wonder all the teens are becoming unwed mothers today.

Was just over on the Hawaii meets thread and someone found a place to do custom Hawaiian shirts. I LOVE this idea...especially since I don't look so good in a t-shirt. :rotfl:

My Nov B2B is all paid, so I can go on line Friday night and grab a Palo dinner (hope to be able to at least send the nieces).

Then the night of the 12th Cheri and I will coordinate trying to grab two side-by-side cabanas for the 3 day (though we may only need one, since we've already lost six playmates :sad1:). Also will grab a Palo dinner then too...must take advantage of the FREE dinner for being platinum after all!

Hi Jackie, LOVE the Hawaiian shirts idea.

It's nice to be platinum!!! Btw, you know that you can use your free Palo for any meal right? I'm sure you do. It's not just for dinner. It's for the first meal that you have at Palo. That's great.

Congrats for paying off the B2B....that's such a great feeling. I'm so sorry that I won't be joining you....but John can't keep coming home with $5 paychecks when they salary delete him for not having enough vacation days. He has different bosses now and different rules. There was a time when he could have used accumulated sick days for vacation too. But not no more. Oh well....I'll live vicaciously through you.....as Karen would say.

Love those baby pics! What a cutie. :cutie:

.

Wouldn't you know it....the first girl in the family in over 10 years and I have to fight to see her. Oh well. Sandi and Joe are trying for grandparents rights. We'll do what we have to also.

It's funny to say that I have a great grandaughter when I've never been a mother. hahaha. I just skipped that part and went right to the easy stuff. :rotfl:

Deb:

love the baby pics :cutie:

we have a new little one in our family as well - also named Lillian (isn't that weird)

our Lily was born at 25 weeks 1 pound 10 oz - she was born a week 2 weeks ago this friday. Her grandmother is my ex-brother-in-laws sister - we share nephews (& she and I had our accounting business together for 10 years) we've known each other our whole lives - anyway - it's her son & wife that had the new baby - so she is my "great niece" they live in Colorado and inspite of the way early delivery Lily is doing well - she will be in the NICU for 2 months getting bigger to then go home. No pictures for posting yet as they are tiny baby full of tubes and wires :sad1: When I have one that is happy I'll update you.

my sister is in Japan now (visiting her son Taylor) she seems to be enjoying herself - wish we could have gone but not the right time for us.

nothing else going on - waiting for the kids to finish up summer school then we head to Dland for Molly's 14th bday :cheer2:

LOL! Well, I'm hoping to feel like that on the Hawaii cruise! :thumbsup2 I was going through my photobucket account, deleting a bunch of things, and found that Mickey. I think he's perfect to symbolize Hawaii! :goodvibes

Nan & Deb -- keep us posted on the babies! Prayers for health and congenial
visits!

Our son is probably on his way to Tokyo now. He has been in Japan for nearly two weeks about 9 hours north of Tokyo cleaning up tsunami damage. Last week one project was to get a church clean enough for worship services on Sunday. Sarah and Sophie are eager to see him! We will go see them the end of the month.

Jan - I love that your son is doing volunteer work in Japan - I have wondered why my sister opted for a vaca there during this time - but different thoughts are in her head as she was missing her son and that was the driving force I guess. Molly's high school does lots of international travel all thru out the school year - I will hope that she can find some good oppurtunties to serve while enjoying travel as well :goodvibes

Our younger son took 3 mission trips to Dominican Republic when he was in high school. His best friend's parents (also good friends of ours) wanted to go into full time missions and thought they might go to the
children's home, school, tutoring program for kids in the town nearby, feeding program and church that were there so they led several trips of high school kids. They are now missionaries in Sarajevo Bosnia.

I went on a mission trip to Cozumel with our church.

This is our older son's first trip. His wife and baby miss him a lot and he misses them. He did not want to go but knew he was supposed to. They will be reunited Saturday afternoon.

Best wishes to Molly as she keeps her eyes open for opportunities !

NAN--your sister is doing important work too !! People need jobs and normalcy in their lives. If tourists did not travel a lot of people would not be able to exist. I look at our trips on DCL as helping local people too. We all feel better about ourselves when we have a purpose and for many people a job that enables them to suppost their own families is
the highest purpose.

Morning!

I was supposed to let you all know yesterday that Michelle is  with a nasty cold & her computer has gotten  with a virus too....I never got on the computer after work.

I have survived my 1st 2 days of work....yesterday was taken up with trying to get everything up & running.....most things are, but not all. I called the IT help desk either 3 or 4 times yesterday. Learning more about the account itself, so that's good.

Jan - I think it's fabulous what your friends & family are doing....I think people who go on mission trips are amazing. I've helped with mission trips, but on the home front...$ & prayers.

Nan - congrats on your Lily :lovestruc

Deb - thanks for sharing those pics! How cute!

i'm heading over to the Gulf coast of FL tomorrow...to Spring Hill. The 1st friend I made in college (who now lives in CA) is here for the weekend. Her in-laws live here....it's been great - I got to see her here last year too.

That's all I have "planned" for this weekend. I should work on the jungle that's in my back yard.....I've let that go since no one sees it (until the guy from Verizon had to go back there :lmao:). We'll see how that goes.

Just a quick drive by...

Been miserably sick with a cold for the last couple of days...

BUT...

My car's battery is fixed

& the garage door is CLOSED!!! :cool1::cool1:

& the QM has left for the cape of Cod... (for a week...) (my brothers are going to feed her fresh lobster... :goodvibes)

Had lots of plans for this week I (closets I was going to clean, etc...) but that will have to wait for a little bit..

Ohh and Deb... sorry.. but I just heard that they cancelled Giant's summer camp for the season because of the lock out... :headache::headache: It's hurting LOTS of businesses out there... :sad2::sad2:

Michelle, sorry you're sick! Hope you feel better quickly.

thanks Holly...

Each day it's getting a little better... I really got caught by this one, but like I might have said... i got away with a healthy winter... so I can't complain too much

Lots of movie watching today, a short nap, a bit of laundry, cleaned the guinea pig cage and cat litter box, and a small bit of cleaning in my bedroom. Finally worked up the courage to start that task because I'm tired of sleeping on the couch! :rotfl2: Hey, whatever it takes! :thumbsup2 Just doing a tiny bit every now and then, then watch a bit of a movie, then about 15 min or so of cleaning. It's slow going, but works well for me. :goodvibes The room is nowhere near clean, but I was able to get to my bed and clear it off so I can sleep there now. That alone is major progress. It's the only room of my house that honestly looks like the houses on those TV shows about hoarders, but it's not from buying stuff. I don't shop. It's just that whenever we clean the living room and kitchen and even Tyler's room, stuff gets shoved into my room for storage. But over the last few months, we've both been getting rid of massive amounts of crap, so once things get clean, it should be easier to keep that way since we have a lot less stuff. :thumbsup2

Too hot to want to go anywhere today, so I just stayed inside enjoying the central air. I never had it before moving into this house over 5 years ago, and now I could never imaging being without it. :thumbsup2

Tomorrow I'm picking Tyler up from his dad's a couple hours early to head out of town for my dad's birthday dinner. He turned 65 today. But he's had such an unhealthy lifestyle most of his life, with heavy duty smoking too, he's really feeble and shaky and doesn't have much of a voice anymore, so he honestly looks 80. It's very disturbing to see him like that. He's only 5 years older than my mom, so there's such a major contrast there, it's amazing. She was a marathon runner up until about 5 years ago when her knees just couldn't do it any more. Anyway, seeing the contrast should be a huge motivator for me to get healthier. I don't want to be like him in 25 years when I'm that age. :sad2:

OK.......I guess that's it for me! I bit more cleaning, then off to bed to read a while. More cleaning tomorrow after church! :yay: Feels good to have my motivation back, so I'd better take advantage of it while it lasts. :goodvibes
