I should rent Sukie out, he's great at getting rid of unwanted people.

Oh by the way, some sort of Chicago Tribune associated digital publication has contacted Sukie to see if he would be interested in doing a blog in their publication. I think he's going to give it a shot. I'm not entirely sure there's remuneration, but it would be good exposure. He just has to do what he does best, be himself.

How much do you charge? We're buying!

Oh, how exciting. The universe wants to hear the words of wisdom of our dear Sukie. Congratulations to you too Ian for getting started on your passion in life. Unlike the hokey pokey.....that IS what it's all about!

Happy news for both of you!

Here's the rest of the pics of the suite.

hey deb!!!

Most important question for all of us planning on freezing ourselves silly next april...

did the ship have heat????

Yes, it was warmer than my hotel room was before boarding. There was a thermostat in the bedroom and in the dining room. We set it on high and it worked fine. But then again, we were in a suite. I'm not sure what the other rooms have. The public spaces were warm inside but it was very cold outside and doors would open as you walked and so you were still freezing. The suite had extra warm blankets and pillows....not sure about the regular staterooms. I'm sure Disney will accommodate for Alaska...not to worry. Can you believe there were kids in the pool when it was only about 30 degrees outside. They were making me even colder watching them. They will probably add a ceiling for the Alaska run.

We got to the terminal early on Sunday and went right into the concierge section to wait. The only ones in that section were us and one other family that was on deck 2 but was chosen as family for the day. They were the first family on the boat.....we were the second. That's why every picture is empty of people. We had the whole boat to ourselves. We ran around and took pictures of outlook cafe. Then we went to eat at Parrot Cay. By that time we were cold and tired of carrying our carry on bags. The room opened and we took pictures inside. We unpacked, went to the Promenade Lounge and then did the drill. Sail Away was outside so we skipped it. We froze just doing the drill. We were outside on deck 4. When we stay in 5122 we meet in Animator's Palate. Glad we're staying in that room going to Alaska.

We went down for dinner on Sunday night and were seated at a table for four all by ourselves. Our table was right near the entrance and we had the best servers. We were in Animator's and it was the only night that we ended up going to dinner.

Monday was John's birthday. We had coffee in the room. It was way to cold to sit on the terrace. Then the cake came and we had mimosas. We didn't have to meet for our Nassau excursion until 1pm. We went to Graycliff Hotel and did an wine and cheese pairing. We were there all afternoon and had the most wonderful day. We had dinner in the room from Parrot Cay that night and we went to see Toy Story the Musical.

Later that same evening.....actually at 2am to be exact.....I lost my cookies.....every twenty to thirty minutes for the next almost 24 hours. Along with that.....at the same time and inbetween, I had the runs very badly. I was sick on both ends all night long and the next day too. I kept drinking water with ice so that I could lose that instead of bile which was so much worse. Eventually I just stayed in the bathroom and didn't come out. I slept there in between getting sick. It was the worst that I have ever been sick in my life.

Then as if it had never happened....everything stopped and I was fine. I slept a lot to regain my strength. That was our CC day. John mostly stayed in the room with me in case I needed anything.

It was a good thing that we had two bathrooms because I clogged the toilet in the front bathroom and had to call maintenance. Talk about embarassing.

Wednesday was a day out to sea. We had Palo brunch and John had a hot stone massage. We saw the Princess and the Frog. We ate upstairs outside on nine.....finger food. I wanted to keep it light. I didn't eat much at brunch either. I was too scared.

We packed up and got ready to leave this morning. Then we went to NASA today and did Sandi and Joe and Kris dinner tonight.

It's been a very strange vacation....between the weather and getting sick and being in the suite.....but it's been fun all the same. It's just been way too short.

I'll take the fussing...I wanna cruise....

Hi all :flower3:

working stiff I am. Looking forward to my weekend :upsidedow

Paul is out tonight with my boss - at a Sharks game :dance3: nice for him huh :rolleyes1

Molly had a great day - received her straight A award today and also won the Maverick Award (school spirit, I think they gave ~ 8 in the whole 7th grade) it's a nice honor :flower3: We of course are so proud :lovestruc

Keeping all of those with hardships in my prayers and thoughts.

Also, please send some prayers for my nephew Taylor. He is in his Navy SEAL training and more and more guys are dropping around him. He is nervous and working hard. Thanks :yay:

Deb, sorry you were ill on the ship. Before you posted I read a thread on the main cruise chat page saying quite a few were ill.

Welcome to Friday!
Your Gateway to the Weekend

Deb - Sorry you were ill during the trip. What a drag. I hope you had some good times in spite of that.

Good Morning Friends....we're on our way home today. Just packing up the last few things to get ready for the plane. We had snow on the ground before we left. I wonder what we'll find when we get back?

Even though I got sick, it was a good trip the rest of the time. Anytime you're cruising on Disney it's good.

Time to wake John up and get this day started. See you back home in PA everyone!

Deb - sorry about being sick....sounds like the norovirus to me....that's how I was on the Baltic cruise....not fun at all. Glad you're feeling better.

Thanks for the pics. Where was the murphy bed? Was it behind the chair in the bedroom?

Safe travels!

Ian - how about taking time off around Thanksgiving? You can then be a sightseeing guide :goodvibes

Nan - tell Molly - WAY TO GO!! Good to see you!

Maz & Michelle - sorry about sleep issues

Deborah - did you get my response?

Prays, :grouphug:s and PD to all that need it -- love too!

Maz - I say it's up to you & how you're feeling :)

Are you staying on property this time or another villa?

We have 12 nights at SSR, 1 week's cruise, then 3 weeks in a villa at Florida Pines on the 27. A little further away from you but not too far.

We won't have a car for a week or so - taking the ME and saving a few $'s. We could meet at DTD, perhaps Wolfgang Puck Express, or we could have a meal at the Turf Club and hang around there for a bit.

When are you down there? Are we going to be bumping into you again in the fairy garden?

Afraid not. We arrive on the 8th February and leave on the 20th March. I am really wishing we had booked for April/May now as it would have given me a little longer, as I only go for my follow up appointment 10 days prior to leaving. All should be ok, but there is just that slight chance of further blood tests etc and that would mean cancelling. I need a fit to travel ok for the insurance.

However the Flower and Garden thingy starts while we are there, so I will think of you both when we wander through the fairy garden!!

I chose to repeat the first week in May, because the crowd levels were so nice last year, as was the weather.

I still need to figure out where we'll be staying. I'll probably call DVC member services and see what the DCV and AP cash prices are like.
