doesn't sound good my friend, I'd be prepared. Stick the bucket by his bed just in case :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:I'd have to put the bucket IN his bed because he has a loft bed. That would be a disaster! :rotfl:

and luckly you can hand him to his father you only have to deal with it half time ;)

Yup, tomorrow at 5 I'll get to hand him off to dad, then I'm going to work tomorrow night.

nite nite and good luck

He didn't have a temp this morning, so I sent him to school. He told me he shouldn't go, and he was right. The school called me at 12:30 after lunch to tell me he's feeling lousy and is lying down in the office. So on the way to get him, I called his pediatrician to see if they could get him in for a strep test today. On the way home from school he perked up and was acting fine. On our way to the doctor's office, he told me his throat doesn't hurt anymore, but has a headache that hurts more every time he bends down or stands up. (We migraine folks know all about that. :sad2:). By the time we get to the doctor's office, he's playing with toys there, bouncy and happy as can be. :rotfl2: No fever, tearing around the room like any other day, but he tested positive for strep. She said we caught it very early, before the point where it gets ugly and keeps you down and miserable.

Dr. said that since he already exposed everybody at school (as did the other kids in his class), he can go to school tomorrow if he feels fine and the temp stays away. :thumbsup2 So we'll just see how he feels in the morning. He feels great and asked me if he can go back to school now, so thats good! But by the time we got his antibiotic from the pharmacy, it was time for school to get out.

Ohhh I can see the caption on this one...

"Will ya hurry up Cherie... somebodys gonna take my lounger.... " :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tyler likes this picture. He's sitting next to me watching "The Little Mermaid" as I'm online and when he saw this picture he excitedly said, "Oh, I didn't know Thing 1 and Thing 2 have Thing 3 and Thing 4!" :thumbsup2 So I told him everybody's names and he says he thinks he remembers seeing Wilson. I can't remember if Wilson is 7 or 8, I think 8 but Tyler told me 7. I told Tyler about his go-cart racing and I'm going to try to find pictures of him in it to show him.

It was a busy late evening for us tonight, and I'll pay for it tomorrow. We went out for dinner and to play board games at a couple's house who we officially met yesterday. It was fun, but ended up staying out until almost 10pm, so the girls went to bed 2 hours late. They'll be okay in the morning, but they'll be grouchy tomorrow evening, and I'll have to be very patient since I chose to stay out and finish playing the game.

Michelle - hope everything is okay with your mom :grouphug:

Holly - glad to hear you had fun skiing (that's good exercise!) Hopefully Tyler is able to sleep tonight, and feels better in the morning. Will he gargle with salt water? It tastes gross but does help a sore throat.

Tyler didn't wake up anymore during the night, fortunately. No, he won't gargle with salt water. I tried that, but he either swallows it or gags. He can't quite figure out how to gargle. He feels fine now though.

You're lucky your girls will get up in the morning after staying up 2 hours late. :thumbsup2 I can't get Tyler up on time if he's up just an hour past bedtime.

Sounded fun, apart from Tyler being a tad cross. I would try and take up skiing again Holly. It would be good for you.

I'm certainly going to try! It's very expensive though. It's about $50 (that includes renting skis). But I'm hoping to go this Saturday while Tyler's at his dad's. :thumbsup2

I hope you managed a good night with Tyler and he wakes up feeling better.
He didn't feel any better in the morning, but feels fine now.

I thought I'd share something that might amuse you folks.

At one of my WW meetings this past Sunday, a member asked if I was going to give out Superbowl recipes.

This caught me really by surprise.

I said, "When's the Superbowl?"

I honestly had no clue.
:rotfl2:Don't worry Ian, I thought the Superbowl was to be on New Year's Day and then football would be all done until the fall. Then New Year's Day came and went and football was still on. :confused3

Is that baseball or hockey??

I LOVED all the pictures but this by far is the best.....it's definitely a favorite.....champagne girls FOREVER!!!:p :p :p

Yeah... no matter HOW we pass out... :rotfl2:

Did you call the doctor Michelle??? She needs to be checked and maybe have some bloodwork done too. I read where you said it may be food poisoning. It is definitely NOT food poisoning. She would have immediately lost her cookies after eating something bad and would have stayed in the bathroom most of the night repeating that scene until there was nothing left. She would not be dizzy, fainting and flush from food poisoning. Instead she would be weak and sick to her stomach.

It sounds like it could be related to ear problems and sounds like she has had it before. Either way, you need the doctor to check her out. Don't just assume that it was nothing. Let us know what the doctor says. In the meantime, I'll keep her in my thoughts for all good things to come her way and yours too. Watch that infection. Make sure you take all of your antibiotics. Feel better soon, both of you.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Ohhhhh... she did... everything went... then she was much better. She's fine now... even went out to the store before OUR part of the storm... another 10-16 inches on top of the 1.5 feet we STILL Have from before...

I had an appointment to see the wound doctor tomorrow but had to cancel and push it back to Friday. We're supposed to get a snow and ice storm here overnight. There will be no getting up and down the driveway tomorrow. I can't walk up if we get stuck at the bottom. Hopefully we'll be able to get mobile by Friday.....I really need to see this doctor.

Glad to hear you changed it... wouldn't want you skating out there tomorrow...it's supposed to be a mess. :sad2:

Oh, and Ian.....the birds are playing the robots in the Superbowl. Just so you know. Those Arizona chicks want the birds to win, but I'm an East Coaster and a PAer so I want the robots to win. We'll have to see which one of them wants it more.:thumbsup2

I was still hoping for the oversized hormonally imballanced men to win, but they caved :confused3

Glad to hear you got him to the Dr. especially since he doesn't get sick very often - I'm sure it's a big deal for him. Tell him he'll feel better in a day or so and that we love him... :upsidedow :upsidedow

today is my second day home...... I am so stuffed up. I have to go back to work tomorrow.

If you're not getting any better you could have a sinus infection V. You would need antibiotics to get rid of it. You should go to the doctor.

Hope you feel better soon.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Holly, how about you??? Did you call the doctor and make an appointment? Don't forget to do it and don't just brush it off. It's important to make sure you are healthy and stay that way.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I hope Tyler feels better today too. Hopefully it's just a sore throat and doesn't get any worse.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I called, but they reminded me that I already have an appointment next week anyway for my med check, and there's nothing available before then anyway. The nurse explained everything to the doctor, then called me back to tell me the doctor believes it's just stress related, from when I had so much stress with Tyler, just catching up to me since I don't have to be so "on-guard" all the time. She says if it happens again and I continue to be so sleepy all the time, even with lots of sleep, to let her know at my appointment next week and she'll go from there, but for now she thinks it's just stress related and my body finally crashing. Makes sense to me.

"Wilson put your shirt on and shut up and smile for the picture"

You do know he isn't always the nicest of boys, right ;)

and he is 8, turning 9 on Feb 24th and we are going to Disneyland that day :thumbsup2 Paul's client sent us the tickets. Better to have the tickets than nothing, but really I'd rather be paid in cash, but oh well, I'm going to Disneyland :goodvibes

I'm not sure where I left off because Jon has been reading and moving my pages around. I read a little and I didn't get any Wii addresses either. I did get this email, which I've never gotten before

I don't know who this is or why they are trying to send it through email because I have Nan and Bubba and V and I didn't have to do anything through email.

That is one crazy doctor. It is not right to assume that Tyler "all ready exposed everyone" This is coming from a mom that has had to keep her kids home from school so many times because other parents have NOT kept their sick kids home. You must be on antibotics for a full 24 hours at least to be non contacious. And while I know it sucks to have to miss work and stay home with him, what sucks more is spreading this illness. okay I'm climbing down from my soapbox, but grudingly.

I do hope Tyler is feeling better. Strep is awful. Molly gets it really bad when she is hit and has to stay home for at least 2 or 3 days due to how badly it affects her. Good luck and keep him on Motrin for the pain, as it does come and go thru out the illness.

Nice to be known as Thing 2.

You all must wonder why I "let" Paul be Thing 1 when I'm so bossy...well it was sabatoge, I was getting my hair done and had to meet everyone for the DIS picture. (was it funny that we were wearing red when everyone was in green) ok funny to me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: anyways, Paul had his shirt on and I had to pull mine on quickly and poof he tricked me. He is a tricky one, watch out for him :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Michelle, I agree with Deb, get mom to the doctor. Barfing is food posioning, not dissyness and hot flashes.::yes::

Ian, Holly.....what kind of weather are you sending to me and Michelle? I hear it's going to be an evil storm.....ice and snow. Yuck!

It's supposed to start here tonight. Happy Happy Joy Joy. I think we're getting up to 3 inches with ice and another 6 inches following it the next day. I don't mind the snow as much as I hate the ice. The combination is the worst. It's Winter. Last year was so much milder....we got spoiled.

It's sure not coming from my way Deb! We haven't had any snow or ice falling for about a week I think. :thumbsup2 Stay in and safe, and I hope it clears up quickly so you can get to the doctor.

Who exactly is this so called, "Nan?"

Good to know. He'll stay home tomorrow then. Again, since he doesn't ever get sick, I'm not up to speed with all of this stuff, so thanks for the tip. After all, I think enough parents obviously let their kids go to school with this stuff, since the teacher said others have it.

I've only had strep 3 times in my life, but after the first time, I always could tell when I had it. Nothing like the feel swallowing knives to give you a big hint. :scared: And since I was drinking his water yesterday on the skiing trip, I'm probably next. :crazy2:

Work was such an absolute disaster today. I and 2 other secretaries work in the workers' comp section. The three of us can barely keep up, but we manage. Well, I missed yesterday because of the field trip, one secretary had the day off for something, and the third one was out with bronchitis. So NOBODY was there in our section to get any work done. That's NEVER happened. So today was just a crazy mess of piles everywhere. I was able to get through some things I had leftover from last Friday before I had to leave.

The energizer bunny lawyer was just coming in when I was leaving to pick up Tyler and I told him what was going on. His face was not happy. :rotfl2: So our newest secretary was alone today there. :scared: The other secretary called after I'd left to say her bronchitis has turned into pneumonia, so she won't be in tomorrow either. Then I called shortly after her to tell our office manager I probably wouldn't be in tomorrow. :rotfl: She strongly suggested I find somebody to come stay at my house with Tyler. Yeah, right. Nobody wants to be exposed to strep! So what I'm going to do is go into work at night, after I drop him at his dad's. Then Thursday in addition to my normal 7-5 I'll just be working as late as I can possibly keep my eyes open. Same Friday. I have no choice because of deadlines, etc. It will be an ugly week for sure. :sad2:

wow, you are going to Disneyland the day before my birthday...

THAT IS NOT FAIR:sad2: Oh wait a min... I forgot that I am having ladies in my house - PARTY :grouphug: :cheer2: :rockband: :drinking1

oh well better than nothing :thumbsup2
