Good morning DISers. I want to walk to the movies today to see Bedtime Stories. I'm sure Jon will say "I'll meet you there"

It is suppose to be in the upper 80s today so it is warm but for some reason 87 feels better in the winter than it does in the summer. I guess because you spend half of the day warming up from the freezing night. Freezing meaning 60.

I'm not sure what happened to everyone last night. Sorry if it was me. I went to bowl and started dancing with Brooke.

87 degrees is 104 degrees warmer than it was here yesterday.

Wow, it finally reached double digits outside! It's up to 10F, so I guess I could try to go shovel, but it's still snowing, so I might as well wait until just before I pick Tyler up, otherwise I'll probably just end up doing it again. So I think I'm going to eat lunch and have a nap.

Did you crawl in to warm up after you got home from work?

No, but we had to move the bottles and cans of pop inside the apartment from the closed in back porch. Everything had frozen.

Sukie boiled some water, and need to cool it down, so he put it out on the enclosed back porch for 20 minutes. When he went to retrieve it, it had ice floating in it.

I like gravy with meat, but the gravy with biscuit is a bit..erm....not to my taste!!! I like butter on my scones, jam and cream too sometimes!!!!

Sukie is suffering from cabin fever, so we have decided to go out to the movies, which are only 1 block away.

We're going to see "Doubt."

Yes success is measured in a lot of ways. I think you have had a lot of nice vacations. If you need more you should make that happen but never feel like you don't contribute. If you are saying you don't contribute, you are saying I haven't for 9 years.

My Mom always called it "judicious outgo". By cooking at home, making clothing, shopping sales, etc. she was a SAHM her whole career.

She volunteered at our church and did scouts. After we were out of the house she increased her volunteering to docent at the art museum and was on the Board of Directors for a nursing home and headed up an effort to build an assisted living facility. No pay in dollars, but pay in satisfaction and contribution!

Everyone is different and needs different things. It was a lot easier to live on one income back then. It seemed like Nan and Paul were excited when they made the decision for her to stay at home. I would hate to think she was going back to work only because she felt like she wasn't contributing but it sounds more like she wants to travel more.

English muffins make great bacon sandwiches - very juicy, but you do need butter on them, and proper bacon!
