Last year we exchanged thru RCI WBC 2 bedroom late January for FIVE trading points. This year I started looking around that time, and at first there were a couple of days available around late Jan early Feb for 20 trading points. I have been searching since August and nothing, I mean nothing is available. Why is that? It is a huge resort, should be something available for the off season. My best guest is it is more profitable for them to rent rooms than to dposit into RCI, mega owners have all the rooms reserved to rent out or something big is going on around that time, Brazil Week? Any person in the know, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You might want to ask on the TUG2.net bulletin board where there are experts who seem to know the answers to all things timeshare related. I've heard that sometimes there is a certain date for some properties to be released for timeshare trades. // Side note too and just my personal opinion: There are so many wonderful timeshares in Orlando. Just saying that here are tons of wonderful properties, many too that members of the timeshare users group rank higher than Wydam Bonnet Creek. We've enjoyed trying a variety of different ones in the area over the years.

For some reason, Bonnet Creek always seems to be a bargain in RCI TPUs, so I'm sure the weeks get grabbed up quickly.

A 2br for 23 TPUs is still a pretty good deal. The five TPU mentioned in the original post is only going to happen for a last minute discounted stay.

I have friends that own Wyndham points and they often rent out Bonnet Creek. I'm sure there is a lot of that at such a popular resort.

RCI can only offer what they get deposited. Something in Orlando is almost always available, but three months out, you may not get your first choice.

I was able to trade on weeks thru rci at wbc for second week in Jan 2013. Got a 2 bedroom. There are so many others available in the Orlando area on weeks. Good luck with your points!

Wyndham deposits once a month, about 7-8 months prior to use. Once a particular month is gone, it is generally gone. They *infrequently* will back-fill a deposit, but it is very rare. I think you are out of luck for Bonnet Creek for January '13; I'd make other plans. As Sheila points out, your only hope for it now is catching a cancellation before someone else does, and that's just a matter of luck.

I have noticed, though, that Bonnet is being taken much faster than it used to be, and that RCI has generally gotten better about identifying high-demand travel seasons and charging appropriate TPU for it. Summer in Orlando is generally high teens to low 20s no matter where you look, because that's when kids are off school. Snowbird season has gotten more expensive as well.

We stayed there in July through RCI exchange and desired to stay again for our Spring Break Trip. I put in a search through RCI and on our last day of our July/Aug vaca at WBC I received a phone call from RCI that the dates we wanted had just opened up so we were able to get a 2 bedroom the last week of March.

As Brian said they deposit about 7 months out and when they are gone they are gone. I know the March weeks were snagged up within one-two weeks.

My suggestion is if you want a particular resort and you have an idea of when you want to travel put in a search request. Of course one needs to do that way out.
