WBC -- terrible reviews on TripAdvisor regarding check in

We booked a 2BR through Vacation Strategy in late June. Our flight arrives at 8:30 a.m. I know check in is not until 4, but I'm reading things about room not being ready until much later.

Any advice, tips, etc?

I have stayed several times at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and have not had to wait until 4pm to get my room. We have gone in the summer as well as over Christmas vacation.

Now, what do you have planned to do while you wait for your room? The lazy river is a cool place to hang out with your family or maybe go to downtown disney...have lunch and do some shopping.

That's good to hear! May I ask if you are an owner or renter? I'm not sure if that even matters. I know we will find plenty to do. I just don't like the idea of check-in going past 4 pm.

Not worried about the bad reviews about check ins- that could be a fluke but what about the new bad reviews regarding bed bugs! Yikes, we are nervous about it now!

I only rented once, and check in was a great experience. Matter of fact, we got there before noon and got checked right in. Maybe that was pure luck, I dont know.

Have checked in BC four times with no problems. And bedbugs would
be the least of my worries. IMHO most of those stories are put out
by soreheads and didn't get freebies.

Any resort can have problems with rooms being ready late---spend a few minutes reading the Disney Resort section of the DISboards and you'll be sure to find a few complaints. You will need to have a plan for what you will do if the room isn't ready by the time you are ready to nap. If I were coming in on a flight that early, I would be tempted to get a "day room" at the MCO Hyatt:

Was there in Jan. We arrived around noon and checked in. No problems. Our room was not ready, so we stored our bags with the bellhop and the front desk took my cell number. We went to DTD and about an hour later they called and said the room was ready. Went back, asked a guy for my keys, and off we went.
