WBC/Honeymoon question question

My fiance and I are going to be married on 12/01/12 and then we're spending two weeks at Disney, staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

My question is, do you think that WBC would be helpful at all in surprising my then wife with something in the hotel room prior to our arrival? Is room service offered/would they be willing to set something up for me before we get there?

I was thinking of something along the lines of a nice bottle of wine with some desserts, as a nice way to begin our honeymoon and relax in the hotel the first night we are there.

Has anyone heard of anything like this, or have any ideas?

I kind of doubt that they'd do anything at the room. There isn't "room service" in the traditional sense offered at the timeshare resort. (There is the onsite pizza place which will deliver to a room, but the options are limited). Since it's a timeshare resort, they also don't have things like the concierge you might find a traditional hotel which might be able to assist in setting up special things like that for you.


Now, That being said, There might be a couple things you can do to help spring a surprise for her.

1. The Attached Wyndham Grand has a full service Spa available (and I think they even have couples packages available), as well as a nice upscale type tableservice restaurant.

2. You can have things shipped to the resort prior to your arrival so that you can pick them up from the front desk/bell services when you get there.



So for example.... depending on the time of day you are planning to arrive, You could pre-order and ship some items to the resort such as some candles, rose petals, and bubble-bath. Then if you can get her away from the room, you can set something nice up in the room (There is always the nice jacuzzi tub ) .

A possibility might be to schedule a massage or something for her at the spa as soon as you arrive. Something to help her "unwind" and relax for the start of the honeymoon after the wedding and travel. Then while she is getting pampered, you can go and check into the resort (You both don't need to be there as long as your name is on the reservation), grab your package, and then go to the room to set up the surprise.

I don't remember what kind of wine offerings they have at the little shop in the main lobby of the timeshare resort, But you might be able to arrange to buy a nice bottle at the Grand (Even if it's from the previously mentioned tableservice restaurant.).


So while the Timeshare resort isn't really set up to have the ability to help pre-set up a special surprise for you in the room, There are options and ways to work with what is available to create your own little magical surprise with a little work (and mis-direction to keep her busy while you put the finishing touches on something for her.)

Thanks, DC. That's some really great advice. I didn't think of utilizing the distraction/do it myself route. I think between getting her out of the room and having stuff shipped to the hotel, I could set up something nice.

How does shipping to the hotel work? Do I just call ahead of time and notify that I'll be receiving a package there?

I've never done it so I don't know exact details, so you should be able to call the resort and find out what you would need to do to ensure a smooth delivery.

In General, What you would do is ship it to the resort with your name and check-in date listed so they know who it's for and when you are checking in so they can associate it with you.
