Calling all WBC "vets"-

Would love to hear your advice and experiences in regards to visiting WDW and Universal while staying at Bonnet Creek. This will be our first time taking our three kids to Universal/IOA and we're trying to figure out the best option as far as accommodations go. From reading the boards I know that WBC is very popular, but as a family that has only strayed from onsite (at WDW) one visit, just would love to hear some opinions.

Also, as this is our first time visiting Universal as a family would we be better off staying at one of the Universal hotels so we could get the benefits of the express pass?

Thanks again for your help!

I can't comment on Bonnet Creek but if you want to check out the Harry Potter stuff, I definitely recommend staying onsite to get the benefit of early entry. It won't help on the express pass (those aren't valid in HP) but the early entry is pretty major IMO.

We are going to stay 2 nights at a Comfort Inn near Universal (purchased through the universal site, package with tix and includes early entry) before our week at WBC. That way we will be around the corner from USF / IOA and THEN around the corner from WDW.

The Universal Hotels are great, so I would stay at one if you can. Much better than driving back and forth, which can take a good bit of time with traffic and parking.

We have stayed many times at Cabana Bay, which has larger rooms, but no included express pass. However, they do have early entry and its an awesome resort.

We stayed at WBC for a Universal/Seaworld trip. We were there during a quieter time, so we had no issues driving to either of those parks. And two days we came back for a mid day break from Universal. I worried about not being onsite and getting expresses passes or early entry, but crowd levels were low and we had no issues at all.

Did it last October. All the parks and tourist areas are so close, no issues.
