Just got back and am having trouble adjusting... sure I'm not the only who has done the following :

* You go to get in the wrong side of the car.
* You walk out the house in shorts and t-shirt and wonder why it's so cold.
* When parking the car at the supermarket you instinctively look for what row number and section you've parked in.
* When finished shopping you stand at the kerb with your bags waiting for the tram to pick you up.
* You think about turning left at a red light.

Any others you guys can think of?

BTW - Philharmagic and Mission:Space are both absoultely superb! Might have a (brief) trip report in the offing when I'm fully recovered.

LOL!

Can't think of any others off the top of my head, but if I do, you'll be the first to know. :D

Knew we were back before we even left Gatwick! My parents who were picking us up were stranded on the M25 for 3 hrs, so went to McDonalds, and totally ruined the server's day by expecting to be served with a pleasant attitude, never mind a smile! It was all too difficult for him. SO different from Florida - instant depression.

Couple more car-related ones:

- You go to fill up with petrol after leaving the airport and think the pump is faulty as it's clocking up so quickly!

- After driving an automatic for two weeks you forget that your own car has a manual transmission and stall it coming out of said petrol station! (yes, I've done this one...)

Paul

It is usually car related with me!!!!!!!like forgetting to change gear or something stupid!!!!!!!!

However welcome back!!!!!!!!!

... Manchester Airport is filthy, with chewing gum stuck all over the place, smells of stale cigarettes and everyone looks miserable and won't make eye contact! I won't mention the weather!

This is so funny ... and true! When I returned to my car in Asda's carpark I couldn't understand why the heck my daughter was in the driver' seat - doh!

Helen
:p

LOL!! These are so true!

Ours was:

*The pilot making some comment on the LOVELY manchester weather, then saying "yep folks your home!"
*Me getting into the wrong side of the car (bet we've all done that)
* Dp adapting from the hire car to his van! (work van he stalled loads and couldnt get used to being higher up!)

* Oh and getting home to FLOOD loads of BILLS BILLS BILLS, ah!

Not having a choice of places to go out for dinner!:(

Going out and expecting, but not getting, good service!:( :(

Expecting free refills on any soft drinks in restaurants.

Stomping round shopping centres with DH continually comparing them to Florida and always moaning that they're not as good.

Wishing that I'd bought so much more when i was there.

Have spent the last 4 weeks since we came home working out if we can possibly, maybe afford to go for a week next March and spending all free time on the internet trawling sites for cheap flights!!

I could go on but you get the gist!

... I forgot that one! Takes me a day or two to get over the depression, then straight back to the mission!

People using the fact that you have a buggy and baby with you, to their own advantage by nipping in front of you, rather than helping you!

Being amazed at how many English accents you hear at Alton Towers! LOL

Staff at theme parks looking blankly at you when you ask how their parentswap system works.

Shop / restaurant etc. staff who look at you like you're a bit strange because you try engaging them in conversation :(

at Alton Towers asking where the fast pass machine is & being met by blank looks.
I know they have a similar system but its never up & running when we go in late September.

going on the water rides at AT & getting splashed not drowned as at Island of adventure!!!!!!

nearly getting run over when you look the wrong way crossing the road, oh cars go a different way here!! we didnt even get home last year had brochure with us and were looking for next year sitting in the hotel waiting to go out, booked two days after we arrived home!! susie :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

.....every time you get into a moving vehicle of any description, some bright spark (usually one of the boys) saying "..... please refrain from eatin', drinkin' and smokin' ....... and take small children by the hand!"

When the jeans that fitted you so well before you went, feel a little uncomfortable trying to accommodate that extra half stone you have put on.
Then commiting to losing said half stone before next visit.

Happens every year to me, but unfortunately have gained extra 2 stone since our first visit on our honeymoon 9 years ago..... I must go on that diet.

Oh My, I have all of this to look forward to then!

I dont tend to get too depressed when I return home, I try to focus on a decent cup of tea & my own bed! I find that helps a little bit!

Going to the loo in Manchester airport to find long queues, half loos not working, nothing clean.
Belting over M62 in 2nd gear, wondering why car sounds like that?
Noticing how unsafe funfairs look in this country, and how miserable the attendants are.
:flower:

When we landed in Gatwick at the end of February remembering what snow looks like and waiting for one hour for a bus to take us to our hotel !
