Anybody have any tips? Because I am seriously ready to cut off my head and just bury it right now. I have a wicked head cold (Zicam didn't catch this one) and am having trouble sleeping because I'm so stopped up. :headache:

It's not a sinus infection. Yet.

Easting spicy foods and hot sauce work best for me, along with HOT showers, and, I know this is a little more off the wall, sniffing Lavender Oil.

My ENT told me that Afrin is as good as any prescription spray.

I swear by peppermint herbal tea. It's not a long term fix, but when you can't breathe and feel like crying, it gives great relief!

I've used the nasal spray ... It worked last night but doesn't seem to be working now. I've got one of those ugly nasal strips on, too.

I actually have some peppermint tea... I'm going to go make some right now.

Get some Vicks Vapor rub cream (it's not greasy) and put it all around your sinuses. Then breathe in steam (pot of hot water with towel over your head). Have a box of tissue handy - you'll need them. I hope you feel better soon - I know the misery you're in.

My chiropractor showed me a trick. Find the pressure points on your face. Feel around on your face until you find the tender spots. Above your nose and at the end of your eye brow, right by that bone edge. Does it hurt when you press on it? Try right under your eye along that bone. Does that spot hurt also when pressure is applied? Find the spots like this all over your face and forehead. Press on them until you can't stand the pain any longer. This helps relieve the pressure and get things draining. It works in our house. Hope it helps you:goodvibes

4 drops of hydrogen peroxide for 10 minutes in each ear. You will hear it bubble and feel the tickle. All your germs are in your ear/eustation tube. This works amazing. Do it every 4 hours till you feel better, which will be in 2 days max! Just did it for DD who is 9 and just got a stuffy nose today. She hates having drops in her ears but she knows it will work by tomarrow.

Try the neti pot shown on that link. The concept is a little yucky, but it really does work well.

I've been using it since last fall. :thumbsup2

I got my husband one a few weeks ago when he got a bad sinus cold and he hated it at first, but pretty soon he was using it several times a day to keep himself clear.

Now if I could find something that will keep me from coughing my lungs out. :rolleyes1

I hate nose spray, but last week my doc gave me some Nasonex and I must admit it seems pretty effective. Hope you feel better soon.:)

Have your hubby eat a couple of egg salad sandwiches washed down with a few beers. Snuggle up and wait for the after effects. Your eyes may tear up also but it should work on your sinuses.

My ENT has us all using Alkalol. Comes in a bottle that looks like alcohol and is really cheap! Just pour some in your hand and snort it up. Gross!! Works wonders and we use it as preventative for sinus problems.

I second the ideas for the sinus rinse/nasal irrigation kits.

I used to get recurring sinus infections until I started using one. Haven't had any problems since! (Knock on wood).

They are only about $10 at Walgreens.
