Yes, the budget board is your friend, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this thread moved there.
Dunno how economical you want to be. Offsite is usually much cheaper than onsite. However, a room at the offsite Waldor Astoria is much more expensive than onsite Pop Century. However, it's much nicer as well.
One thing you can do to cut costs (and this is detailed more in the Budget Board's gift card threads). Buy Disney gift cards at a discount. Several ways to do this, depending on where you live. If you have a Krogers close by, you can buy a gift card and get points for when you fill up for gas. Usually, you get 20 cents off a gallon of gas (limit 35 gallons) for each $100 of gift cards you buy. Sometimes, they double it, so it's 40 cents off a gallon for each $100 of gift cards. And yes, Disney is included.
Another way, if you're a Target Store shopper, is to use their credit card or debit card to buy Disney gift cards. You get 5% off every time you use their card. So a $50 gift card is actually $47.50.
Check when your grocery stores have gift card sales. At some grocery stores (none where I live), you can get a coupon for $10-$20 off your next grocery shopping trip when you buy a certain amount of gift cards. That's only certain times of year.
HTH.
